Better suction and re-using disposable bags

I'm no sucker coz i just put the suction back in the hoover. emptied the bag and was still not picking up so put Velcro around bag, turning a disposable into a re-usable and sealing the air leaks around nozzle, now it works better than ever.

Why has my vax power VX2 hoover now lost it's suction ? I have noticed that the roller has limitied brushes on it now and was clogged with hairs . I have removed this now and the brushes are still min

Sounds like something is clogging up the pipes between the head and suction pipe. Have a poke around with some wire to see if it's full of hair or fluff, maybe even a sock?

The brush wont rotate on my windtunnel vac but it still has suction. Could this be a broken belt?

Yep - that's usually the culprit if the brush stops turning. However, pull off the skid plate (bottom panel) and make sure you haven't picked up any string or some other obstruction that's wrapped itself around the brush & stopped it from turning. Things like hair/string don't always end up in the bag/bin sometimes if they're long enough they just wrap themselves around the brush.

I have a Vax turbo force 2000w hoover and it doesnt pick up theres hardly any suction and then it cuts out. Any ideas what the problem could be?

Yep,

Your filters are clogged. As a result the motor is straining and overheating, then a thermal cutout operates.

Clean the filters in the top of the vax and if you are ussing a cloth bag empty and wash ot. If a paper bag, replace it.

All should be well

My Hoover is picking dust , very poorly

The Telios has a bad design on the handle and it sounds like something has definately got stuck. Unfortunately the nature of the cheap European design means the handle can only be removed by someone who owns a vice in their garage without breaking the removal points. Alternatively find a long bamboo stick or pole to put inside the hose mount which connects normally from the main bin of the Telios (not the other way around up the handle) which has no sharp edges and push up and down vigourously to dislodge any clogged dirt which may have inadverntely got stuck either by the handle or in the hose itself.

Another thing to do is to check the suction from the Telios itself by removing the hose. If there is suction coming from the main dirt bag/bin door with the hose removed then there is no problem other than a clogged hose and handle. Hoover updated the handle and hose in 1999 and spares can be found by looking on Ebay.co.uk for cheaper prices.
