Tip & How-To about Philips 37PF7320A 37 in. HD-Ready LCD Television

Philips Model 42FD9954 power comes on for 8 seconds and than flashes red. Called Philips service support and found out that some of the problems it could be is the set can be reset by removing the plug for 20 seconds and then plugging it back in. The second problem was the heater for the gas. I ran a hair dryer on the bottom of the screen on the rib vents, while repeatedly turning it on for several minutes. The gas warmed up an screen came on.

i have a phillips 42fd9954 17s. when i turn it on the green light tuns on for like 6 seconds then fades . then nothing. no sound no picture. any idea. i am using a comp cord. had no cord when i got it

if you use vga input and there is no signal the tv shuts down in few second. It will wake up again if you provide vga signal or cycle it on off again. Change input to component or s-video and tv should stay on. On the other hand, this model has known problem with bad power supply unit but usually red light flashing when tv shuts down in that case.

Model:Philips 42PF9965 Plasma At switch on the green light comes on for a few seconds, then it goes off and the red light starts flshing. After several attempts the tv may come on live and stay on until you switch off.The two relays on the power supply board heard to be clicking on and off during the time the red light is flashing

You might have some swollen capacitors on your power supply board. They will be easy to spot out, because they will not have flat tops like the rest of the capacitors. Replace them with the same rating capacitor. You will need a soldering iron, solder and solder wick for this repair. If you are not comfortable with electronics I would recommend taking it to a authorized service provider.

42FD9954 philips plasma TV flashing LED it wont come on

The problem is in the standby power supply. the standby power supply generates the 9 volts and the 5 volts requird by the tv. If you measure the 9 volts source, with only the red light on, the correct voltage is 9 volts. However if the 9 volt measures 6.5 to 7 volts it is too low and the startup relays cannot operate. My set is a model 42FR9954/17S. In this set if capicator, 2603, is heated the voltage climbs to 9 volts and the relays work. If cold air is applied to the capicator the relays fail to operate. Replace capacitor 2503 and the problen is fixed. This capicator is: 47 Ufd, rated @ 450 volts, and is 20%.

Hi, and unfortunately I am facing the same issue. My TV blinks GREEN LED for a few seconds then starts flashing RED led. The result I hear from this is that it is the SSB Panel and the estimated cost for service is $600.00 it sounds like you are STARTING with the problem. I began that way too. If you are under warranty, call Philips NOW!

any ideas?

1) Replace C2663 by 2020 021 91677 (100uF/50V, 105°C).
2) Place Schottky diode 9336 247 60133 on pin 7 (+) and 8 (-) of IC7650,
to avoid negative pulses, resulting in this bad startup behaviour.
