testing batteries for E300s scooters

You haven't given me much information, Wendy, such as why you want to test them, or if they are in the scooter. I'll presume that they are not connected, and that you think there may be a fault in the scooter. To test them you will need a multimeter, and if you own ones of these you would know how to test the batteries. They are too expensive to buy for a one-off job, and I won't confuse you by telling you hoe to set up a test lamp.......Hook up the batteries to the scooter and see if it works....Don't forget that the red wire goes to the POSITIVE ( or Plus ) terminal, and the black wire goes to the NEGATIVE ( or Minus) terminal. If you are still having trouble, take the battery to a battery supplier and ask him to check it for you. Please don't forget to rate this answer.

My headlights dim and the volt gage drops when th heater comes on.

I think one of two things may be causing the problem. Either your alternator is weak and not putting out enough current (check with a voltmeter, engine running, look for a minimum of 13.2 volts at the battery), or the heater motor has a short drawing too much current (but if it also happens applying brakes, that may not be the case).
I don't think the starter going out is related to your present problem.

2010 Elantra Touring - car won't start - doesn't turn over (battery is fully charged), clock/radio & A/C units don't work, and EPS doesn't work. Dealership cannot figure it out.

sounds like a fuse. check them and get back to me. If the shop you took it too cannot figure it out they probably should not be a shop. i hope they didnt get you for a diag fee. Im going to locate a wire diagram to help you figure this out.....Also you said you put a new battery in the car, check that the battery terminals are clean and tight.

power locks does not work properly, dome light wont come on, radio code needed everytime i start my car.

When these problems usually occur, your battery is so weak your car won't start. Check your battery, the connections to the battery (anything loose, etc.). Don't forget to disconnect the ground (-) wire first if you decide to removed the battery connections and re-install the ground wire last to prevent risks of shorting the (+) pole of the battery to the chassis if you do it the other way around.

Did the car show any signs of a charging problem (alternator circuit, etc.) ? If not, I would suspect the battery, I've seen it before and yes they can be good, and "die" just like that without showing any signs of fading before failing.

Hope this helps.
