How to use scaner, camera, printer (any USB device) remotely

We use USB devices every day: MDF's, scanners, webcams, printers, etc. Not all devices you usually use at home can be redirected over the network to other work places. Sometimes your family members may need to use these devices on different computers. Of course, carrying devices back and forth the house is not the best solution:)

You can avoid this headache if you have apropriate software solution on hand. USB Network Gate, one of such software solutions.

USB Network Gate is an essential USB sharing solution that allows sharing USB devices over network or Internet. In other words, Network USB Gate allows using USB devices on a remote computers or virtual machines as if they were connected to it directly. You can also share USB devices over RDP.

Rimshot64, you did help someone out here. Two years later, even. And you succeeded where Microsoft "Help," per its tradition, failed. Thank you -- I got my scanner and printer, etc., back, and wasted only half a day uninstalling Microsoft updates (their suggestion).

HP Photosmart C6280 not visible as printeroption though installed

this will usually happen if you're disconnecting the USB cable from the computer and putting it back on a different USB ports. try to connect it to where it was working before. this is also true for other USB devices such as scanners and webcams

Canon FB630u problem

I have struggled with this same issue for ages, I just found a fix from the HP site for the same problem with an HP scanner - it worked for my Canon LiDE70. Run regedit then:
  1. Double-click HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE to open the folder in the left pane of the window.
  2. Double-click SYSTEM , CurrentControlSet , Control and then Class .
  3. Select {6BDD1FC6-810F-11D0-BEC7-08002BE2092F} and check in the pane on the right for the Lower Filters string value.
  4. Right-click Lower Filters and delete it.
  5. Disconnect the scanning device and restart the computer.
  6. Reconnect the scanning device after the computer is restarted.
  7. BINGO! it worked!
