A/C Relay problems 99 Suburban/Chevy & all derivatives...:0)

Don't know if I'll get anyone's posted this one for A/C related problems with their Suburbans/Tahoes/ect., but it was driving me crazy trying to run down a problem I've had since I bought my Suburban (1999) four years ago. Had NO A/C because I thought it kept blowing relays, and didn't drive her in summer subsequently. Previous owner had even had a new AC system installed because of it. Every time I hit a bump with a new relay in? It turns out that it just lost contact with the prongs...that simple! Take a pick/bend the prongs to where they'll make contact again, gently. Took me 15 seconds....and could NEVER find any info on any forums about it possibly being that simple a fix. Hope someone finds this helpful. KC

Older suburbans and tahoes can have this problem..the rubber run channels get kinda hard, causing binding of the windows. You can spray some silicone spray or wd-40 into the run channels to help the windows slide up and down easier. Best fix ix to replace the run channel.

1999 Pontiac Bonneville-My fans don't work, lose coolant very fast not sure where it's going? Hasn't overheated, but I don't drive far. Planning to take 1500 mile trip at end of month?, no white smoke coming out the back, oil not creamy white nor water visible and doesn't run rough. Purrs like a kitten. I'm taking it in on Monday to a repair shop. Your thoughts? Thank you.

I assume it's the 3.8 V6? They are notorious for intake gasket problems. The fan problem could be a few things, fuse, relay, ECT (electronic coolant temp sensor), ECM, Do the fans come on when you run the A/C? Hope this gives you some ideas. Let me know a little more and I'll try to help. TJ

gas pump shuts off every gallon or two while fueling

We see this quite often in Texas. There is a vent filter for the vapor recovery system that gets clogged with debris and water on late model Suburbans and Tahoes due to it's location near the water spray of the left rear tire. Your local trusty automotive repair facility can fix the problem for you by replacing the filter, valve solenoid, and relocating/rerouting the lines. General Motors has released several TSBs on the issue. Reference TSB 09-06-04-028B for more information.

I believe some 2002 tahoes and suburbans had a recall for the Hydroboost brakes, see you dealer. That's a very serious issue

Need the scoop on a 2007 Jeep Commander

"hard" parts seem to be pretty good on most of them...If you read the posted problems though there are a bunch of electrical/computer based issues that in my opinion have stemmed from over-engineering and typical cost-cutting measures that affect quality. You cannot really "maintain" your way out of those, but hopefully you will have a good one...remember, no one posts here because they have no problem...there are thousands out there that run just fine!
Good luck with your eep!!! (I have three!)
