Tip & How-To about FixYa Service

How to request more information for an unclear question on Fixya.

Sometimes when folks need help with their product issues, they can be frustrated or in a hurry to get help. This sometimes causes questions to be rushed or unclear. In many cases these types of questions don't provide enough information for Fixya Experts to help. Missing models, years, or even small details can make a huge difference when asking a question.

As a Fixya Expert there is a simple way to contact the person who has asked a question and ask them for more information. Simply following these easy steps will help you get the info you need to help folks solve their problems.

When a question does not have enough information for you to provide an answer, simply click the request more info link below the question. A box will appear with a default message (can be edited) requesting more information. Just click the send button and the person asking the question will be notified about your request.

Using the request information feature can help you get the information you need to help answer any unclear questions. This is also much more convenient and helpful than simply posting an answer that just reads: "No model, how would we know", which is not really a helpful answer. Sometimes, simply asking the model by requesting more info will get you all the help you need!

Hope that helps!

Why are you not answering me

ill explain why.. when you post a question you need to enter all information possible. what your having a problem with and what is the exact problem. when you post it as you did it comes here in pieces so nobody knows what the original question was unless they go to your name and backtrack. this is a drawback of fixya. it is very frustrating sometimes to use and also to try and help folks with the problems they have. so what you should do is start over and ask the question again listing what it is you have trouble with and then the problems you have with it....ok??

Hello - It is printing in a very tiny size!

What happens if your press "Ctrl" and "+" while in the document, and then print? Same thing? Try it.

You can go into your printer program (control Panel/Printer) and set the default font and size to something larger.

Thanks for the feed back. And thanks for considering FixYa.com

BTW, I'm not being a smart mouth here ... I get so many questions where there is no question to the question. Sometimes it is frustrating to try to help folks when there is so very little to go on. It might make sense to you when you write it. It has to make sense to who ever tries to answer it. Like your comment, you can't read it because it is so small - I cant solve it because the facts are so little.

printer ip4300 not installing correctly

Some folks have had good luck resolving issues like you have by deleting the INFCACHE.1 file, which can get corrupted with bad data and cause issues.
The file is located at C:\Windows\inf. There, scroll down to the INFCACHE.1 file and right click it and select delete.
To do this, you will likely have to give yourself permission to delete it, because of Windows built-in security.
Just right click the file, select Properties and then click on the security tab.
Let us know whether this procedure does anything. Sometimes it does and sometimes not.
