Tip & How-To about Home
Note: Toto does not sell parts and requires dending in a unit with a maximum repair price of $300 as of 1/.2015If after replacing remote batteries the seat still does not respond, try the following:1. Turn off the water shut off valve at the wall and unplug the power.2. Unscrew the water inlet hose to the seat.3. Unsnap the seat from the toilet by pushing the quick release on the side of the seat neat the hinge on right side facing the toilet.4. Bring the seat to an area you can get dirty (outside) and remove the two stainless screws on the rear of the seat.5. Carefully unsnap the cover (four plastic clips inside the cover)6. Clean everything inside and out including water filter on side (unscrews), air filter underneath, top of toilet, and rinse and allow to dry thouroughly.7. While drying carefully unclip the remote sensor and remove the connector by holding the lock and pulling straight off. Confirm there is no corrosion on the connector. Use a contact cleaner/protector and clean the contacts and replug in the connector.8. It is also recommended to do the same for all of the other connectors.9. Put everything back together.10. Replace hose and plug in power and allow "restart" to finish11. Test remote to see if remote "talks" to seat before turning on water.12. Turn on water and wait for inner tank to fill.13. Manual controls on side of seat can be used to confirm unit is working. After confirmation the remote should work normally.14. After this procedure my SW 834r worked perfectly...... enjoy.
