my windows explorer is not open

If you press and hold the key with a Windows logo then the E key, it will open Windows Explorer (this is a shortcut, often referred to as Windows + R).
You may also open a Run program dialog with Windows + R then type

explorer

as the name of the program you want to run, then enter.
Or you may press the Windows key to open the start menu and type the word

explorer

This will search for Windows Explorer which you may then open by clicking once on its icon in the provided search results.

ok i have windows vista on my comuter with a microsoft basic keyboard1.0A. Now with the top three buttons (mail, web/home, search) the mail one opens up microsoft office outlook but i want it to open hotmail. how do i fix this

There's no way to do this perfectly, but I can get you pretty close to what you want. Here are the steps:
1. Create a new shortcut on your Desktop or in My Documents. (Right click - New - Shortcut) 2. It will ask you what the target location of this shortcut is. Type "http://www.hotmail.com". 3. Now that it's created, right click on it and click "Properties". 4. Click in the box next to "Shortcut key" and hit your mail key. It should now say Ctrl + Alt + (something that stands for your mail key) 5. Hit apply and try it out.
Now if you hold down the Ctrl key and the Alt key then hit your mail button, it should take you to your Hotmail. I know it's not perfect, but I hope it's suitable for you!
