Tip & How-To about Tools & Hardware - Others
I responded to a comment about a year ago, concerning Color Place (Walmart) paint. Her complaint was the quality (was not the culprit) of this paint. However, when she gave various symptoms...bubbling, peeling, using more paint (than the higher ranking paint brands)....Before I go any further. A few facts about me that relate to this issue....I was (forced) to retire at age 45. Adult ADD was the cause. So, I'm making my way on a SS Disability pension currently (I'm 51 y/o now). You learn quickly that you have nowhere near the income you were making. Hence, the ability to maintain a home nicely, now becomes fully controlled by budget....Now, I'll continue. Starting February 2012, I've been remodeling, painting, repairing, etc. my home. With an open mind and a restrictive budget. Here's the facts. This lady did not have her walls and/or paint in a proper state. I told her that the walls have to be prept. Correctly. They were not. Based on her information, these walls were in a terrible state. The walls were in a repulsive condition. Oily, pitted, and on and on..I mean a disaster. As far as paint prep went, she thought a few dozen stirs did the trick.....After "thoroughly" mixing my Color Place paint. I have painted approximately 40% of my house with Valspar. Absolutely, no issues with it. However, based on the cost, I had to cease and desist using it due to budget restrictions. Hence, my continued painting project had to be continued with a lower price paint....Color Place....Mixed it with a 18 Volt cordless drill and a paint stirring rod. Result...Flawless !!...Still have some to go yet...Like the title says..Paint, Budget, and Just the Facts. Thanks for reading.
