How To Take A Screenshot using Mac OSX

Take a Screenshot of Entire Screen:
Hold down Command Shift 3

Take a Screenshot of Specific Area:
Hold Down Command Shift 4 -- You will see the cursor change to a Cross hair, Right Click and Drag over desired area, Let Go and screenshot will appear on Desktop

How To Take A Screenshot of Specific Window:
Select Window.
Hold down Command, Shift, 4, Space Bar - The selected screen will show a camera icon, Click on the Camera icon and the screenshot of the individual window will appear on your desktop.

Command-shift-3 will take the whole screen
Command-shift-4 gives you a cross-hair so that you can select a smaller area.
The pictures are automatically saved on the Desktop with a name like:
"Screen Shot 2014-07-27 at 11.57.31 AM"

You can use Cmd+Shift+3 to take a screenshot of the entire screen or you can use Cmd+Shift+4 and then select only the area of the screen you want to capture.

    Cmd+Shift+3 : similar with PrtScn for Windows, whole desktop activities capture.
    Cmd+Shift+4: Region capture.
    Cmd+Shift+4+Space: entire window capture.
