Tip & How-To about Dyson Bagless Upright Vacuum DC41 Animal

Dyson DC41, DC43, DC65 or DC66 - Removing a blockage from the cleaner head or internal hose

If your Dyson DC41, DC43, DC65 or DC66 upright vacuum cleaner doesn't seem to be picking up as well as it should be from carpets or hard floors, this may be due to a blockage. A blockage could occur if an item too big for the machine has been accidentally vacuumed up.

After turning off and unplugging the machine, please follow the steps shown in the video to locate and remove any obstructions from the cleaner head, internal hose or changeover valve.

The user manual for the Dyson is only 9 pages. I cannot access one for the D66 for free. From the ad above, the manual for the DC65 must be similar. There is also a uTube around which addresses unclogging hoses for dysons. The first link above hopefully shows you about the accessories, anyway.

Self adjusting head plate not adjusting to hard floor

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulty pushing your DC41 on hard flooring. However I'm confident I can help you resolve this - if you can email me directly at help@dyson.co.uk, I'll be in touch as soon as possible to take some further details. If you have the facility to attach a clear photo of the underside of your vacuum's cleaner head to your email, that would also be very useful to me.

I'll look forward to hearing from you.

does not seem to adjust to different carpet sizes

Hi Denise,

DC14 is engineered to adjust automatically to suit the type of flooring you're using it on. You can also use the brush control on the cleaner head to turn the brushbar on for vacuuming carpets, and off for vacuuming hard floors.

However, if you're concerned the cleaner doesn't seem to be working correctly, please follow the steps shown in our online support guide to identify and resolve any issues:

http://www.dyson.com/support/help.asp?article=626&product=DC14-ANIMAL_US

If you've tried this and still feel the cleaner isn't picking up as well as usual, please get in touch with us directly so we can help - you can call us free on 0800 298 0298 (UK), or 1866MYDYSON (US).

Kind regards,

Jack
