Tip & How-To about HP Office Equipment & Supplies

Toner

HP has this wonderful idea of throwing out previous toner cartridge design upon every printer release. It is not worth it to keep different models of printers especially color printers. One full set of toner is about a thousand dollars for color laser printers. Every time I had to upgrade one, I bought multiple of that unit and got rid of the old one as soon as I go the use out of it. It you run out of toner and aren't going to buy anymore, print only black. Get you your moneys worth. Then get rid of it.

HP Easy Refill Kit for (HP) Color Inkjet Cartridges Printer

my boss want to replace the black ink cartridge for one that prints color. Can this be done with the HP 12-a cartridges? HP Laser jet 1022

Unfortunately laser printers don't work this way. The laserjet 1022 was designed for black and white prints only. In order to do color printing with a laser printer you will need to purchase one that is designed to print in color. The laser printers work a bit differently than the inkjets - the laser printers have 4 toner cartridges, one each for Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black, that work together to print a full color page. With the old inkjets you could just replace a black cartridge with a color one.

So, short answer: Sorry but no you can't make a laserjet 1022 print in color. :)

I would recommend looking at an entry level color laser printer from hp, such as the CP2025 (http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/us/en/sm/WF25a/18972-18972-3328060-15077-236268-3673580.html) if you are looking into purchasing a color laserjet.

Hope this helps

Mar 09, 2011 | HP 645A Magenta Toner Cartridge (C9733A)...

The Magenta colour on my 2605dn is no longer coming out properly (very faint). The cartridge was replaced by made no difference. All other cartridge colours work fine. Tried cleaning and calibrating but no affect. Any ideas? Thanks

A faded magenta on this model is probably a dirty scanner mirror.
The printer design puts a fan in an area that blows magenta toner directly at the laser scanner.
The more toner on the mirror, the more faded the print.
You will need to remove the scanner and clean it.

refilled black toner, but red light next to it is keep on blinking. Is there any problem? thanks

I have the same problem. I think the system has been designed so you cannot or should not actually refill the toner - samsung have designed it so you have to buy a very expensive replacement and if you do a refill it stops the printing cycle working. The only solution is to reset the chip which requires a specialist tool and is not worth it. Put shortly samsung have designed a throw away product as the cost of a new set of toner cartridges exceeds the cost of a replacement identical printer from PC world. Think hard before you buy this one!!

Faint mirror image when printing

It's most likely one of 2 problems...the toner cartridge or the fuser. The toner cartridge transfer roller may still be charged and keeping a little bit of the previous page's information on it, to be transferred on the next sheet. I would try a different toner cartridge first to see if that solves it.
