Installing a Pedal Strap onto a Bike Pedal

Video about How to Install a Pedal Strap onto a Bike Pedal

  • This procedure will demonstrate how to attach a pedal strap onto a pedal
    • This is even easier when the pedal is attached to the bike but we did not have a bike available so we are showing how it is done with the pedalremoved from the bike
      • Tip: Soaking the pedal straps in hot water can make the strap installation even easier as the hot water will soften the rubber making it more pliable
  • Start on the inside of the pedal (nearest the pedal shaft) by placing the slotted hole in the strap at the bottom of the tab and pulling the strap up and into place as seen in the video
  • Then with the tab on the outside of the pedal, start at the bottom and push the strap up and around the tab into place
  • This is all that is required to install a pedal strap onto a bike pedal
  • That completes the procedure

Searching for the proper pedal safety strap that will hold my artificial leg on the right pedal.

try places that deal in artificial limbs and items for immobilized people and see if there is such a strap made for your requirements
if not , it may be necessary for you to obtain the help of an upholsterer to design, fashion and construct a suitable strap for your application
something like a riding stirrup that has an enclosed toe piece welded to the pedal and a strap around the heel would be a idea to start with
just a suggestion

Have a Schwinn xr7 exerciser bike, need new pedals or straps

I am not sure what type of bike you have (did not bother looking it up), but I myself too have a schwinn exercise bike (recumbent) and the straps recently broke, and when I sent customer service an email from their site they said they sell replacement straps.

I included the kind of bike I had when I inquired so the price given to me might be exclusive to my bike only, so you'll have to contact customer support yourself to see if they sell replacement straps for your bike and if so how much.
