Tip & How-To about Viper Televison & Video

Viper remote not charging or no display

This is for the two way pager style remotes. If the remote no longer charges or it does not display anything then it could use a new rechargeable battery. This is usually the case for 9 out of 10 problems. This battery is much like the one in your cell phone and has a chargeable life. Over time and charging it gets weaker. Also if you leave the remote uncharged for a very long time there is a good chance the battery will not recharge. If you need to go on vacation for a very long time, charge the remote and then disconnect the battery from the remote. It takes about one minute after you reconnect the battery too the remote for it to start back up. This does nothing to the pairing of the remote or system, the remote saves all of that info in it and does not require battery power to keep it saved. Here is a website to purchase new batteries viperremotebattery.com and a youtube video how to change it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GGnG5iCX09A Thanks, Hopefully I can help someone in need because these remotes are very expensive.

Wii remote is not charging. I have 2 remotes, one of them does not charge. Basically, when I charge it, it charges for a few seconds then it turns to the green light (meaning it's done charging) so it stops charging for some reason. I have to basically take it ouot and put it back in every few seconds. It's not the one that connects to the wii itself. Any help?

If you have had the "battery" for a long time, it could be that it can no longer carry a charge. Rechargeable batteries' charge grow shorter over time. If you still use the Wii/Wii U regularly, I suggest rechargeable AA batteries+charger (If you don't have them already). AA batteries work in other devices so even if you stop using the Wii, the batteries will still work in remote controls, clocks, flashlights etc unlike a WiiMote Battery pack.

My remote takes a long time in moving from channel to channel, and well pretty much doing anything the speed has gone down and I have only had it for maybe 6 monhts.

Remotes take longer to respond when the batteries are low. This is a base station rechargeable remote but it still contains a rechargeable battery. The symptoms you describe suggest that the battery isn't rechargeing properly.

Please read the following page to determine whether your remote is charging correctly:

Hope this helps.

I know Radio Shack used to sell them (pagers), and the service was about $10 a month. It was just a plain numeric display, no-frills pager. Unfortunately, pagers are quickly become fazed out.

There is also a device called the "Firefly", which is a phone, but only dials out to "mom" or "dad" or 911, thus eliminating the chance of racking up a huge phone bill.
