Tip & How-To about Trendware TK-207K 2-port USB KVM Switch

How to fix trend net shutdown.

In order to get trend net switch to work again, I first shut down both computers. Unplug both usb cables from computers, turn off monitor until flashing light goes out on switch.
Then reinstall all cables, turn on monitor and boot machines one at a time.
I have to do this every so often just to keep the switch working.

I have shut down my computer that was working just fine until the next morning. When I turned it on again the computer turned on but everything connected to it (monitorkeyboardmouse etc.) won't come on. I've turned off the computer several times and back on again but nothing seems to work.

Unplug everything not needed ( printers / copiers / usb devices and drives.
Check CD/DVD/floppy drive for discs, remove them.
Try using different power extension leads / check fuses.
If your monitor / mouse (if its optical) are also dead and dont show any sign of life, it sound like a problem with you power leads/adapters

Operation of computer while connected to F380 .

Hai

I understand that your Isue is "After installing the HP All-in-One software, the computer stops responding during start up when the All-in-One is connected and turned on. The computer will start correctly if the All-in-One is not connected or is turned off."

SOLUTION:

This problem can be resolved by changing the "USB Emulation" in the Computer BIOS settings.
If you are using a DELL Computer just follow my instruction below.

Caution:
If you are using a USB keyboard, do not disable “USB Emulation”, “USB Keyboard Support”, or “USB Legacy Support”. If the settings must be disabled, use a PS/2 keyboard

Changing the BIOS on a Dell Dimension computer
Follow the steps below to turn off the ability to boot from USB devices but still support a USB keyboard while starting. Contact Dell for assistance if necessary.
  1. Shut down the computer.
  2. Unplug all USB devices other than a keyboard.
  3. Start the computer. When the Dell logo displays, press the F2 key to enter the System Setup (BIOS) program. If the Windows screen displays, wait for the computer to finish starting up, shut it down, and then try again.
  4. Press the Down Arrow key to highlight Integrated Devices (Legacy Select Options).
  5. Press the Enter key.
  6. Press the Down Arrow key to highlight USB Emulation .
  7. Press the Space Bar until the “ No BOOT ” option displays.
  8. Press the Esc key twice to go to the Exit menu.
  9. Plug the USB devices back in.
  10. Ensure that “ Save Changes and Exit ” is highlighted, and press the Enter key. Contact Dell for assistance if the problem still exists
Changing the BIOS on a Dell Laptop PC.

  2. Unplug all USB devices including USB keyboards.
  3. Start the laptop. When the Dell logo displays, press the F2 key to enter the System Setup (BIOS) program. If the Windows screen displays, wait for the computer to finish starting up, shut it down, and then try again.
  4. Press and hold the ALT key while tapping the P key until a screen displays that includes the words “ USB Emulation ”.
  5. Press the Down Arrow key to highlight “USB Emulation”.
  6. Press the Right Arrow key until the “Disabled” option displays.
  7. Press the Esc key once to go to the Exit menu.
  8. Plug the USB devices back in.
  9. Ensure that “Save Changes and Exit” is highlighted, and press the Enter key. Contact Dell for assistance if the problem still exists
Change the BIOS on computers from manufacturers other than Dell If you do not have a Dell computer, contact the computer manufacturer for assistance. If the manufacturer does not know how to disable starting from USB devices, they may be able to change the order (boot order) of the disks the BIOS uses to start the computer. Move the bootable USB devices selection lower on the list than the computer hard disk drive. If you have any further queries or if the problem still persists, reply me.
