My clarion vz401 isn't holding memory. I believe memory cord is yellow or red? One is power and one is memory. Tried putting them color to color but it didn't hold memory. Then I tried feeding the yellow wire to the red wires but that didn't work either? Help me out

the red needs to be wired to a 12v+ ACC(dash accessory circuit) which is only powered when the ignition is on, the yellow needs to be wired to a 12+ constant(or, direct line, with in-line fuse to battery +), whether the car is on or off. if the wires behind the dash both lose power when the car is off, the yellow lead will have to be re-ran, possibly thru the firewall, and to the battery(with appropriately insulated wiring, and an appropriate fuse.

instead of going thru all the trouble of running to the battery, it may be beneficial to get a multi-tester ($20-40, usually), in order to test the wires behind the dash for a 12v+ constant and a 12v+ acc.

I have a Marine Model M235 and need the wiring instructions. I removed a old cassette and hooking up the Clarion CD/Radio. It is getting power but no sound from speakers. This unit has more wires than the old. I have only two speakers. Can you give me the color code for the wiring ?

Common wiring for 2 speakers should be.

gray is Rt. +
gray with black stripe is Rt. -
white is left +
white with black stripe is left -
Black wire with crimped connector end is ground for deck. (battery -)
Red wire goes to 12 volt + source (fused) usually connected to ignition/accessories.
yellow goes to constant 12 v + for radio memory.
orange with white stripe, is for illumination. (connect to light switch)
blue is for power antennae if you have one.

I have a 1993 chevy lumina that I want to put a Clarion radio in, the original was stolen along with the wiring harness, so I only have bare wires exposed, what parts do I need to purchase?

You can purchase a small package of crimp connectors for the electrical connections. If the wires are exposed, you can connect them using this following list of connections.
These are the CAR's wiring (not the radio unit)
Car Radio Battery Constant 12v+ Wire: Orange
Car Radio Accessory Switched 12v+ Wire: Yellow
Car Radio Ground Wire: Black
Car Radio Illumination Wire: Gray
Car Stereo Dimmer Wire: Brown
Car Stereo Antenna Trigger Wire: Pink
Car Stereo Amp Trigger Wire: N/A
Car Stereo Amplifier Location: N/A
Car Audio Front Speakers Size: 4′ x 6′
Car Audio Front Speakers Location: Dash
Left Front Speaker Positive Wire (+): Tan
Left Front Speaker Negative Wire (-): Gray
Right Front Speaker Positive Wire (+): Light Green
Right Front Speaker Negative Wire (-): Dark Green
Car Audio Rear Speakers Size: 6′ x 9′
Car Audio Rear Speakers Location: Rear Deck
Left Rear Speaker Positive Wire (+): Brown
Left Rear Speaker Negative Wire (-): Yellow
Right Rear Speaker Positive Wire (+): Dark Blue
Right Rear Speaker Negative Wire (-): Light Blue
Look on the owner's instructions for the radio, the wiring diagram should be there. If not you can visit the clarion website with the radio model number to get the color codes for the radio wiring..
Simply crimp each to the correct corresponding wire. You may have a few extra.. the antenna power, or the radio mute.. just cap the ends of these..
