Full Reset to original factory status May cure many problems

I waited 60 seconds and the procedure never worked on my nuvi 270, even though the same instructions are contained in the help file on the unit itself.

Fortunately, I may not need to reset it. I was unhappy because it told me to drive the wrong way on 2 highway access roads...then I discovered it was in Pedestrian mode, and it would have been OK to walk the wrong way on sidewalks next to those roads.

Great advice! Gives me hope. Have not been able to hold the screen and power buttons long enough to get to a white screen (even after 3 minutes) yet, but when I do I can attempt a full reset. Was afraid the way the screens were scrambling there might be moisture damage in the unit. Thanks!

these tips really doesn't work on my unit (nokia 6110 navigator).i've been pressing and holding the bottom right corner which is the # sign together with the power button but still it did not work..the white screen appears but it directly goes to the main screen "on" while im still pressing the # sign and power button how long should i press and hold these 2 buttons so that i can restore my phone into it's original settings.thank you and hope to hear answers from you as soon as possible.many thanks

Magellan Maestro units Reset button - look at the bottom of the unit , there will be a small hole on the left side. push this recessed button while unit is on. this should help ,if contact Magellan customer support.

Could not get this to work with a Magellan Maestro 3210 where the 2008-09 map update destroyed the software. Turning it on flashes a white screen, but then it immediately goes to the the Magellan screen with a load bar undeneath.

i tried this but my problem is that my unit wont power on at all i was trying to do the firmware update on it and it got stuck so i unplugged it from the computer and now i get nothing on the screen and when i plug into my computer it says it doesnt recognize my gps anywhere please help someone ASAP i just bought this and know it is broke.

hi i have got evesham n20 sat nav,which was working fine until my mate borrowed it off me and when he gave me back,its not working properly.its not giving me guidance and am not getting voice instructions either.moterways,tolls and speed cameras are permanently disable on it,which were fine before.cant get hold of evesham and the website www.nav-cam.com which i used before to update my sat nav,thats vanished aswell.if any one can help me out.

What do you mean by hold the bottom right corner of the screen. It isnt a touch screen, so is it on the screen, under or where else?

I BOUGHT MYSELF A FORTIS GPS NAVIGATOR AND IT CAME WITH THE ROUTE 66 SOFTWARE (SOUTH AFRICA), MY PROBLEM IS THAT THERE ARE PLACES THAT THE NAVIGATOR DON’T SHOW IN MY AREA/COUNTRY I KNOW THAT IT CANT SHOW ALL THE PLACES BUT I THINK SOME OF THEM ARE ON THE NEWEST VERSION, SO I ASKED AT THE SHOP WHERE I BOUGHT THE GPS AND THEY GAVE ME THE WEBSITE SO THAT I CAN UPGRADE MY SOFTWARE SO THE PROBLEM IS THAT WHEN I FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS ON THE WEBSITE THE UPGRADE DOESN’T TAKE PLACE. I DID DOWNLOAD THE UPDATED VERSION ON MY PC AND WHEN I PUT THE SD MEMORY CARD FROM THE GPS INTO THE MEMORY CARD READER/WRITER IT SEEMS LIKE THE UPGRADE DOESN’T SEE THE ROUTE 66 IN THE SD CARD BECAUSE IT KEEPS ON SHOWING THE MESSAGE INSERT THE MEMORY CARD WITH THE ROUTE 66 AND IT DOES NOT UPDATE THE PREVIOUS VERSION, SO CAN YOU PLEASE TELL ME WHAT SHOULD I DO TO UPDATE THE VERSION THAT I HAVE OF RUOTE66 ON MY GPS.

How OTRdriver's solution worked for me to clear up my StreetPilot C330 when it was stuck/frozen on "Acquiring Satellite" mode:

PROBLEM: Frozen screen @ “Acquiring Satellites” Full Reset to original factory status May cure many... ( DO THIS OUTDOORS TO RECEIVE SATELITTE SIGNALS ! ! ! ) Solution:

1- Turn off unit.

2- Press and hold the bottom right corner of the screen.

3- While still pressing and holding bottom right corner, press and hold power button and
continue holding both until a white screen appears (may take a couple minutes) with a
black dot.

4- Follow the on screen directions (pressing various dots that appear on the screen) and
your unit will be back to the day you first got it.
