Tip & How-To about Porter Cable Cable No. FR350A Rnd Head Framer Kit

Replacing the Collar (part #118 -on diagram)

I recently submitted a request about whether to use Lithium Grease or not.
I did use White Lithium Grease to coat the part prior to installation, since I assumed that the additional lubrication couldn't hurt, since the chamber itself was well oiled already.
One point to remember is ,be sure to clean any debris that may be in the chamber that might possibly interfere with proper operation of the tool,no matter how tiny it might be..
I missed a very small piece of the old plastic collar that interfered with the new Collar sealing properly, and had to take apart and reclean before reinstalling.
Working like brand new now.Big savings since a new gun would be $ 180 dollars;and the part was $ 20 dollars, and a little time to replace/fix.

Grease dripping from bottom of microwave

sometimes when a microwave is mounted above a range some people dont always consider that you have to take into consideration that you have to go by the heat rating guidelines because it will melt the white lithium grease off the gearing and it can possibly melt some of the protective coating from the circuit boards so check if it is rated to be placed above a range and go from there

Need to know if I should coat the COLLAR (part #118)with white grease prior to installing the replacement part.

No need for grease on cylinder seal. The oil that you add during use is good enough. White grease good for piston oring and headvalve orings. Good luck

what do i lubricate the flexible cable, inside the shaft of the line trimmer, with ?

I use a black molybdenum disulfide grease to lubricate the flex shafts. I remove the shaft, wipe off all of the old grease, apply a new coat of grease, and reverse the direction of the shaft when re-installing (top becomes bottom, bottom becomes top) to more evenly distribute the wear on the flex shaft.

transmission gets jerky like it can't decide whether to shift or not When shifting down manually the jerky diminishes

Try spraying all the linkages & or cable at throttle linkage & at side of transmission with WD-40 or similar, to get things loosened up, then give a coat of white lithium grease or similar spray to keep it lubed up.
Engine off, wheels blocked etc.when you go under eh? safety first.
That may be all you need, if not get back to us.
