Tip & How-To about Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition

Support for Microsoft XP is Coming to an End

Microsoft will be ending support for Windows XP in early 2010. Many of us will want to continue to use it.

I am advising my customers to bring thier machines in close to the deadline and have an image made with all the available service packs installed.

An image backup with the service and security patches installed will allow a safer re-installation after support for XP has ended.

Thought I'd pass this on for other shops and users who will continue to use Windows XP.

All you need to call is 1-800-Microsoft (642-7676). You will first speak with a Customer Service Agent, you will be redirected to the right department for your issue. Miscrosoft has set-up team, activation, dept for virus issues and even sales. This is the link for the entire Microsoft contact support http://support.microsoft.com/contactus/cu_sc_selector_telephone. Please be reminded that Support for Windows Vista without any service packs installed ended on April 13, 2010. To continue receiving security updates for Windows, make sure you're running Windows Vista with Service Pack 2 (SP2). For more information, refer to this Microsoft web page: Support is ending for some versions of Windows (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/help/end-support-windows-xp-sp2-windows-vista-without-service-packs) loadTOCNode(2, 'notice');

how i can download windowxp

Don't be a "SOFTWARE PIRATE" -- there is no _LEGAL_ way to "download" Windows XP.

See Microsoft's announcement about "end-of-sale" for Windows XP -- after October 2010, you'll no longer be able to purchase a new PC with Windows XP installed: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-xp/end-of-sale.aspx

Until then, find a small computer-store that is licensed by Microsoft to build a new PC, from components, and to install Windows XP on it. Buy some components from them, to entitle you to also buy a copy of Windows XP from them.

If you mean Windows 7, it has not been released as of yet. I believe it won't be out until late 2009 or early 2010. If you want to read about it go to:
