1. What geographic location? (parts source)

The support company for Speed Queen is Alliance Laundry Systems (Since 1908)

US and Canada Dealers (Pdf files)
For the UK
Do a net search ""Alliance Laundry Systems" +parts +Coin site:.uk"

This appears to be a good source in the UK.

earlier when I would open the dryer door, the barrel would continue to turn. A few days later it stopped happening. Then last night I threw wet laundry in the dryer, set the timer, pushed the start button and nothing happened. Could it be a defective door switch and can i fix it myself?

Leaking water

Does not sound like a bearing problem. Check to see if water is overflowing the top of the tub during spin cycle (due to spin action) and running down the side of the tub.  Water rising up the side of the tub during spin cycle could also be squirting up through bleach dispenser opening and running down side of tub.
