Sorry for not have been more explicit.
1) I guffed on the model number: Epson Stylus pro 10600.
2) It is working perfectly in vista 64 bits.
Here is how to proceed.
a) Download driver from Epson site as posted earlier.
b) Run exe file. It will unzip software.
c) Do not run setup, it will not succeed instalation.
d) Add Printer from Control panel.
c) Choose network printer.
d) Don't let windows search for the printer. Insert its IP address.
e) When asked for the model, you will not find it under Epson. So click HAVE DISK.
f) Browse to the directory where you have unzipped the drivers for Epson Stylus 10600.
g) Choose EPFWP.INF
h) IMPORTANT: before printing test page, make sure the network address or the port you have the printer connected on, has same IP address, except for the 3 last digits. EX: Printer: 117.124.17.12. Computer network port: 117.124.17.11
This should work for who wants to use Epson stylus Pro 10000 plotter in Vista 64 bits.
Good luck.
Forgot another setting.
Before trying to print:
1) Go to Printers under Control panel.
2) Right click your printer icon, than Properties
3) Choose PORTS.
4) Click the IP port your printer is using, Choose Configure Ports.
5) Under Protocol, Choose LPR
6) As a queue name under LPR Settings, type in small letters: print
7) Check LPR counting enabled box.
This should do it.
As further follow up I tried install the XP x64 epson 10600 driver on a vista x64 box for a epson 10000 printer and it does not work. Perhaps the original poster meant that a the XP x64 driver for a epson 10600 works for an epson 10600 in vista, as opposed to the 10000 like the category posted in suggests
the epson 10000 XP 32 bit driver will install in vista 32 bit . I haven't tried printing with it yet
further info:
You can print to an Epson 10000 (archival) with Vista 32 bit. You don't get the ink monitor and epson print preview doesn't seem to work (or we didn't wait long enough but we did wait a long time) so you are somewhat printing blind.
