Tip & How-To about Washing Machines

Works on most of electronics :P

Turn it off , leave it unplugged for 5 min , open your ears and turn it on !
If it didn't work , you most likly heard the tick and easily narrow down the issue :)

Go to turn on tv and all I get is flashing red light and tv won't turn on. Was working the other day.what do I check?Sharp LC-26GA5U

Try unplugging the TV from the power point and leave unplugged for 5 min.
Or the batteries in the remote may be flat, try replacing the batteries.
If this doesn't work the TV may have a fault.

I hope this helps

canon pixma mx700, I have this printer and last week I was getting ready to print some document and printer gave me a message that it's out of paper, so I added the paper and then pushed the OK button and didn't do anything and it was just stuck. I then tried to power down the printer and turn it back on, but the printer wouldn't turn off and I tried amny times to power it down by unplugging it form the power outlet. Still does the same thing and when I called Canon they said that it needs to be replaced. To me it's a nonsense since it just went out like that and logic tells me that it needs to be reset. Can you help me to understand how to do this before I go out there and spend more money please?

I have been working on Canon printers since 1990 and have never heard of a machine that remains powered up with the mains power disconnected. The battery on the logic board does not have enough power to power the lcd. The capacitor in the internal power supply would drain quite quickly and so would those of the operation panel. Are you saying the display remains alight with no paper on it?? If this is the case then i can only assume that somehow the machine is getting the 70 volts from the phone line to keep the screen alive.
Just to be sure unplug the main leads from the machine and disconnect from the phone line too. The screen will power down in less than a couple of minutes. if it does not then leave it until it does, no matter how long it takes.
After it does power off, leave it again for another 5 mins before powering it back up. If the trouble persists then please repost and i will take you further.

Goood luck,
