Mirror Lock-Up
I use the hacked firmware 2 years ago. Then Custom Function (12) has been set for Mirror Lock-Up = [On].
Mirror Lock-Up only applys on Single Drive and Timer/Remote but not Continuous Drive mode. So I set to Continuous during normal use and immediately set to Single Drive mode for MUL for some shots that need it, e.g. long tele-lens in dim lights.

My S21S has a blank viewfinder, other than the menu and the ability to view images already on the SD card. There is an icon of a hand in the viewfinder at all times. I think that "mirror lock-up" sounds right for a 35mm SLR, but do digitals have mirrors? The only viewfinder is via the CCD, so why would you need to divert the light to a viewfinder with a mirror? It seems like the image processor is locked-up; this started when I put a 2GB SD card in the camera. I assumed that this locked up the firmware. Is there a way to reset or update it, or am I wrong about the mirror?
