Tip & How-To about Sears TGE MP3 Player

Computer won't recognize my mp3 player.

I had to go into device manager and uninstall the device first and then go back into control panel to add new hardware. My computer (XP) found the new hardware. I let it find the software on the internet and now it is working great.

sir my sistem is netvista 2169 model H4A IN INSTALLED IN WINDOWS XP COMPUTER WORKING WEL, BUT SOUND PROBLEM THERE IS NO DRIVER FOR MULTIMEDIA PLS HELP ME TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM, I SEARCH IN INTERNET BUT NO DRIVER FOUND FOR THIS, PLS TELL ME WHERE I GET THIS DRIVER, PLS HELP ME

right click "my computer" and select "properties" then click on "Hardware", Inside the hardware, select "Device Manager"
Inside the Device Manager, see whether there is a yellow Question mark before the start of any name, If there it will be the driver which either not there or not updated. Right click that driver and the first option will be update Driver. Select it and it will ask you to update automatically, select it and it will search on the internet for the best available driver for your hardware. If there was more yellow Question marks with the items in the Device MAnager, then repeat the same process with all. If ther was no Yellow Question mark, then select "Sound, video and game controllers" and select for the option of sound it in and right click it, and select uninstall driver. Once uninstalled then Inside the control panel, select add new hardware. and follow the steps which come in your way. If no yellow question mark, then once the Device Manager is opened, right click the first thing written inside the box, and the option will come " scan for hardware changes" click it, and u may find something like , Found new Hardeware, and it will start seraching for the drivers automatically using the internet

hi i'm just new at this. we have no sound what so ever. i found the sound chip number or something. how can i get my sound back online again?

1. Lets start with the obvious. Make sure the volume mixer control is not muted. This is usually a speaker icon at the bottom of the screen. If you do not see this then go to control panel, sounds and audio devices, and make sure nothing is muted.
2. check device manager. This can be done in Win XP by right clicking my computer, properties, hardware, then click device manager. Alternative way to enter device manager is by clicking start menu, control panel, system (performance and maintenance), hardware then device manager.

In the deice manager window see if any question marks or exclamation points are visible.

If so, see if it the mark is for an audio device.

If it is an audio device, uninstall the device.

Next, try to install the sound card driver again. If that fails, the enter the device manager and uninstall the sound card again, restart the PC, ignore the hardware manager, and try to install the sound card driver software again.

You Could Try This..

I'm Using Windows XP (SP2)

I Had This Problem with my Zen & found that if I Uninstalled the USB in Device Manager (Portable Devices) and rebooted the computer and let Windows redetect and install them.

YOU MUST HAVE YOUR PLAYER PLUGGED INTO THE PC WHEN YOU DO WHAT'S BELOW, AS YOU NEED IT TO APPEAR IN PORTABLE DEVICES

To Get To Device Manager Quickly - Highlight My Computer On Desktop/Right Mouse & Choose Properties/Choose Hardware At Top/Then Select Device Manager/Then Portable Devices/Highlight Your Player & Right Mouse Then Choose Uninstall/Exit Device Manager/Disconnect Your Player/Them Restart Computer..../When The Computers Ready Try Connecting Your Player Again It Should Work?
