how do I change the ink cartridge?

Follow these steps:
  • Make sure the power light is on.
  • Raise the front cover.

  • The cartridge carrier moves to the middle for the loading position, unless the printer is busy.
  • Pull the cartridges toward you until you hear a snap.

  • Remove the used cartridges. Store them in an airtight container or dispose of them properly.

  • Load the new cartridges and snap them into place.
  • Close the cover.

NOTE: Sometimes the ink cartridge carrier won't position automatically to the middle even when the printer is on and the cover is open. Just unplug the printer from the power source. With the cover open, hold the solid white strip and gently slide the carrier to the middle of the printer. Load the cartridges. Close the cover. Plug the printer back to power source.

See the instructions on page 12 of this manual:

Print Cartridge wont fit back on properly

Take the print cartridge out. Close the lid and turn the unit on...the carrier will go the the left and buzz (finding home position) . lift he lid, look at the back of you print cartridge and you will find a little silver ball. rotate this until it is at the top (12 oclock) put it back in the machine and close the mechanism...firm but not too hard, it should click...close the lid and it should home out again..you should see the printwheel move...that should do it.
