You could reset the AC brick by unplugging it from both the
wii and the wall outlet for 90 seconds.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! Was finally gonna get off the couch & do some Wii Fit and it seemed the console conspired against me! Now all is well, though my husband just got home & kicked me off so he can play Punch Out! Thanks again anyway!

Thanks for the tip - we had a lightning strike and power surge here which took out the electronic garage door opener, the dryer and the wii - we were at least able to get the wii up and working again with this tip.
