Tip & How-To about Garden
After several years and a being exposed to the elements, your wooden picnic table can start to look really worn out. You don't need to spend a few hundred dollars on a new one - you can restore your old one. It's a project that will be both fun to do and save you money.
Where do I start?
1. Using a mixture of bleach and water (not too strong), scrub the table really well and leave it to dry completely.
2. Check the table for structural damage; hammer in any loose nails or boards and fill in any holes with wood putty.
3. Now you need to sand the table down. Sandpaper comes in grain s of coarse through to fine. The worse state your table is in, the coarser sand paper you will need to start with. When you are finished, clean the dust off really well.
4. Now you can paint or wood stain the table depending on whether you prefer a more natural look or a brighter one.
5. Leave it to dry completely before using it. Enjoy your new table!
There are a few differences between picnic tables and folding tables. For one, picnic tables don't usually fold. Picnic tables are only used outdoors. The main difference between picnic tables and folding tables is that picnic tables have benches attached on either side.
