Let's take a look at some of the treadmills main advantages and disadvantages. First, during unpleasant weather conditions (rain, snow, etc.), most people cannot go out for a run. But if you have a treadmill at your home, you can run regardless of the weather outside. Second, the treadmill offers a variety of trainings likeintervals/speed training and hill training. Third, running on the treadmill isbetter for your knees and joints that running outside on concrete or asphalt.Now let's move on to disadvantages. Treadmills are very expensive, so if you're looking to buy one for your home, make a wise decision and buy a high quality one that will last you a long time. Another disadvantage is that it gets really boring! Many people who use the treadmill complain that regardless of their treadmill program, they are quite bored. Also, even though it is safer than running on hard materials from outside the gym, treadmills still puts pressure on your knees and joints, so people with knees and joint problems will probably benefit more from other equipment like elliptical machine. Last, compared to running outside, you don't work out ashard on the treadmill because of lack of wind speed.

I have the timex fitness trainer and it is calculating my calories for a man and I need it calculated for a woman. Help!

Simple! men and women burn calories at the same rate. And the more muscle you have the more calories you will burn to conduct an excersize. And the more fat you have, the more calories you will burn from fat.
