Tip & How-To about Dogs

Traveling with your dog

There is nothing more fun than traveling with your best friend, especially if you travel alone.

Here are some helpful travel tips and suggested pet supplies to have along in order to have a successful trip.

Pack your pets supplies

Make sure to take your pet belongings along with you, get a doggie bag. It is important that your pet will have his familiar toys and accessories, especially if you are going somewhere you and him have never been before. Take the collar, harness, food bowl, pet bed and your pets favorite toys. Make sure you take some snacks and treats for the road and make sure your pet is familiar with the treats you give him, otherwise you can find yourself in the middle of nowhere with a very upset pet.

You should also consider buying some seat covers or have some nylons in the car in case youll have an unfortunate accident.

Another thing you might want to consider is getting a booster for your pet, especially if you travel with dogs and cats. You must make sure you travel safe. Any local pet supplies shop has these boosters.

If you have a naughty dog, make sure you take some calming supplements with you in case it decides to go crazy just as you started driving.

Another good tip before going to a long trip is practicing beforehand. If your pet, especially dogs and cats, have never been into a car or on a drive, it might be a good idea to have some short drives around the neighborhood just to see if they are getting along.

In any event, planning ahead is always a good idea. It will make you feel confident that you have everything you need to have a safe and fun trip and make your pet calmer and easygoing so youll all have a blast!

Looking for a way to write down my travling memories, something like a travel diary. Any suggestions?

The travel diary lets users upload photos, meet other travelers, and keep a travel diary for their friends to read. Sounds great, right? Well, the only drawback is that in order for friends to read your travel diary, they must also have the application. So a better alternative may just be starting your own "outside" travel blog and importing your posts through notes. Then just add photos to your regular facebook photos section. It has a good idea, but comes up short.

A friend of mine downloaded 'Traveler IQ Challenge'. Is it a trivia game for travelers?

This application i smuch more than a trivia game.In this fun (and addictive) challenge, you'll be asked to pin point where famous places, cities, and travel destinations are located. We'll then calculate your Traveler IQ based on how close you were and how quickly you found the spot." Overall: A fun and quick-hitting quiz for the traveller looking to test their geography intellect. At the end of Facebook's "geography bee", you are given a Traveler IQ and shown where you rank amongst your friends (bragging rights!). You may play the original world challenge or focus on a specific continent or theme (i.e. World Capitals). I found it difficult to exactly pinpoint the location in question due to a slow and jittery cursor on the map.
