Sony NWZ Series MP3 / 4 Player Fault issues

I am not bad mouthing the brand as Sony are excellent and they make some quality products including these players, ive owned quite a few but most of the time like everything else they can fail.

The NWZ series has problems with faults due to bad firmware which causes things like the logo staying on with the small dots in the corner saying its loading , the device loads to main screen but the buttons dont respond.

The battery in them is a Lithium Ion and if left dischanged for too long it will be come flat and it will take 5 mins for the mp3 player to start charging.
If it doesnt come on within the time then the battery needs changing, but it is glue'd down tight inside behind the screen.

White screen but music playing can be caused by the screen failing , loose connection on the ribbon cable or video driver I.C on the mainbord failing.

Freezing is down to the firmware again in which the device crashes and must be reset by the button on the back.

Hope this helps, you cannot get the firmware as its hard wired by Sony at the Factory and the update if yours is V 1.0 can sometimes help.
