The iTunes software update for iPod Touch

ITunes is a media management program launched by Apple built to help manage content for all Apple iPod, personal media players, including iPod touch. You can use iTunes to load and delete songs, apps, podcasts and a variety of content on your device and back up your iPod touch. Before installing the software update on your iPod touch, you should update your iTunes software. Typically, iTunes prompts you to update the program when there are updates available, you can also manually check for updates in iTunes.


1. Launch iTunes.


2. Click "Help" from the toolbar menu at the top of the program window and click "Check for Updates". The program will prompt you with a new update, if available.


3. Click the "Download iTunes". Apple Launches Software Updater.


4. Click the box to the left of the "iTunes" and click "Install an item" button.


5. Click "OK" to confirm the terms of use agreement.


6. Apple Software Updater will automatically download and install the update from iTunes. The updater closes iTunes prompts you to restart your computer to complete the upgrade.

1. Update iTunes to the latest version
2. Check the USB cable
3. Verify that Apple Mobile Device Support is installed
4. Restart the Apple Mobile Device Service and verify that the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is installed
