Hello Steve,
Your model =
EI28BS80KS will need some extra assistance...
Try going to (you should) double check it... before going into depth... Once verified... you will be READY
Insensitive inexperienced parts people will try to add another number (1,2 or 3) on the end of your number...
Have COURAGE ... Yes... you are still on the
RIGHT TRACK.
(sadly... this is not even uncommon)
Other NUMBERS are OTHER Refrigerators
(later... usually
lessor, cost reduced versions
)
First...
http://www.electroluxappliances.com/Kitchen-Appliances/Refrigerators/
to get your
ABSOLUTE PART NUMBER... (over multiple brands)
Then you will be free to shop around.
~~
Be sure you ACTUALLY
need to replace it...
Sometimes a tiny bit of ice can jamb thing up... or make terrible noise... a complete power off defrost/thaw has been know to set problems right without major surgery.
I'm just saying ...
Replace It = the
evaporator fan... Alright then...
Onward:
It is actually pretty easy... and if you use
SEARS only as an INFORMATION repository only... not terribly expensive.
Plentiful parts house URL links will be linked below
SEARS PARTS (same parts everywhere)... Very Pricey $$$$$
(pretty good information... though).
Take
USABLE pictures as you progress.
When you have to pull wires off to remove a panel... make a note or snap another picture. I don't think the thermostat is PARTICULAR... but I KNOW the transformer is VERY particular... Avoid problems... put the wires back EXACTLY as you found then (hence the
usable pictures).
Instructions tell you to remove shelf/drawer slides... I would only do so as a last resort. Typically a slight warp of the rear panel will allow it to be slid up or down and out of the FREEZER cavity.
Video tutorials are available on some of the sites.
You will be proud
if you are careful... if not you can recover some of your loses/costs... parting out your ruined JUNK to competent do-it-your-selfers
Watch the videos... turn off the power... be safe
(this is NOT rocket science)
