Hi Erna - Fixya does not send emails asking you download anything.

The Fixya website should work just fine on your Mac using your favorite web browser. If you have any additional questions, please leave a comment and I will be more than happy to help you troubleshoot further.

Hope that helps!

Password to what/where? Your password to FixYa obviously works.

Did FixYa send you email saying we were resetting your password? Or is the email from someone else? Perhaps from a website you registered using another email address?

FixYa Service | Answered on Jan 24, 2014

I only see one previous post of yours at FixYa, about a password to some unspecified website.

If you posted your question on some other website then please go to that website to find solutions.

How long did it take you to answer the first question?

You become a Level 1 Expert by getting at least one point. You become a Level 2 Expert with one hundred points, and a Level 3 Expert with one thousand points.

*Please note that only your Full Name is displayed on the site. Your Nickname is only used to identify your account in our records.
*It is not currently an option to change your nickname.

If you want to add or change your full name, please do the following:
1. Sign in to your FixYa account
2. Click your Avatar on the top right and select "My Account"
3. Click on "My Settings" tab
4. Enter your chosen name in the Full Name field
5. Scroll down and click "Save My Information"

This will change your name on the site retroactively and on all your future posts.

Not directly. They used to have a "marketplace" where people could pay to get solutions from qualified experts, but that system flopped miserably. They also used to have a points store where you could "buy" things with the points you get from answering questions, but that too is gone. Now they're trying this: http://www.fixya.com/pro/landing-page

Just connect your memory stick to your computer and then browse into the files on the memory stick and copy them to your computer and then you can delete the photos from the memory stick.

There isn't anything to uninstall, as FixYa doesn't install anything on your computer. To sign out, click on user name near the upper right corner, then click on "Sign Out."

Basically the letters, number, and other characters that are on the keyboard. Not the ALT+ combinations. If you're pasting from a word processor, use the "Paste as plain text" option.

You get an email from FixYa, assuming you gave a valid email address when signing up and your spam filter doesn't get rid of it. You can also look at your FixYa home page to see the status on your posts.
