Hi Dave,

In order to post solutions and questions on Fixya you must be signed in.

I believe that you were not signed in to Fixya and this is why the answer was lost. Please note that if you are not signed in to Fixya, and you try to post your solution, Fixya will give you a chance to sign in by pointing you to the sign in window so you will not lose the answer you just entered.

You can tell right away if you are signed in to Fixya by the Avatar on the top right corner of the Fixya page. If you can't see the avatar and you can see the "sign In" link, it means that you need to sign in to Fixya before answering questions.

I hope this clarifies the issue and I'm sorry for the lost answer.

You can always add a comment to the answer you have received.
Under each answer you have received there is a link: "comment". click this link and you will be able to keep corresponding with the expert.
The expert will be notified via email of the additional information.

Click your username in the upper-right, click "My Account," click "My Settings," then click the "Change" button below "Password:"

To change your Password, please do the following:

1. Sign in to your Fixya account
2. Click your Avatar on the top right and select "My Account"
3. Click on "My Settings" tab
4. Click on the "Change" button below the Password section
5. Enter your current password and your new password, then verify it by entering it a second time.
6. Click on "Change Password"

To change your profile picture please do the following:

1. Sign in to your Fixya account
2. Click your Avatar on the top right and select "My Account"
3. Click on "My Settings" tab
4. Select one of the images presented or upload your own photo by clicking "Upload"
5. Scroll down and click "Save My Information"

First, ask a Question and fill out the form. Then, once you have posted your question, add a comment to your question. When you click in the Add a Comment field, you'll see a small icon of a mountain and the sun appear, along with an icon of a filmstrip. Click on the icon of the mountain and sun. A window should pop up, whereupon you will be able to upload a picture.

You can usually find manuals if they\'re available by navigating to your product on the Fixya website. Once you\'ve located your specific product there will be a link on the left hand side of the page that will read "Manual & Guides". If you click the link you will visit the page that contains all the manuals Fixya has available for that product.



If no manuals are displayed, then Fixya does not currently have a manual for that product, but you can upload a manual from that same page or keep checking back as new manuals are uploaded all the time.

Hi Meyerjr. Unfortunately, users currently do not have the ability to add makes/models to FixYa. But we feel that this would be a great enhancement to the site, and we hope to add it in the future. In the situation you are describing, I would do one of two things:

1) If there is a model listed that is reasonably close to the one the question is about, choose that model.

2) If there isn't a model that is reasonably close, I'd just leave it as it is to avoid even more confusion.

You can reset your password by clicking on the "Forgot Password?" link on the sign in screen. Just click the sign in link at the top of the page to open the sign in screen.

You can also visit the Forgot Password page directly:

Just enter your email address and you'll get an email to reset your password.

You should receive an answer when an expert views your question and knows how to help. To help increase the quality of your answer and decrease the amount of time it takes, make sure to provide any and all details along with anything you may have already tried. Also add any details such as a model year or make of your product.

If you feel you need to add more details to your question, just visit your question page and add a comment below where your question appears.

Hello,

There are many different "rewards". Answering some problems can get you anywhere from $2 to $7.

Then there are chats that can get you something like $10 to $15 I believe.

Know this though, that you must answer 30 free questions each 30 days to stay eligible to answer those Premium questions.

Paymnets are made at the end of the month but only if you have $50 accumulated. Also those paymnets are a month behind. If I have $50 in Premium answers at the end of January, I do not get it until the end of March.
