Samsung RS2630WW Side by Side Refrigerator - Page 7 Questions & Answers
Icemaker won't fill tray,
Was the inlet tube frozen. If so your water inlet valve on the back where the water supply comes in is probably leaking and when the water reaches the freezer it freezes, blocking the inlet tube. Replace the water inlet valve.
You can Try swapping the wires on the dual water inlet valve. Then
try the water dispenser. The water should go to the ice maker. This will tell
you weather or not the ice maker valve is working and if the line is clear.
Fridge and Freezer do not keep foods cool
Samsung rs2630ww i have had endless problems i have had it replaced 4 times. red hot center and side panels i have had 2 condensers burn. the problem is that it is simply badly designed!
there is not enough air flow . so if it has any restriction it kills the unit. a Samsung tech told me off the record these units are all problematic! of course he love it at 200 an hour.
Motor is making a loud noise
if you can get to the sticky paper that hides the bairings, drop some oil in the hole and seal it back up, problem fixed for another year.
teflon oil is better.
Ice maker won't work
Check your wiring to the timer motor. UNPLUG IT
Take off the cover look for any loose wiring. If all the wiring is in place you may have a bad timer motor.
Freezer making a loud noise.
Sounds as if the evaporator fan has shaft play or the blades are out of balance or striking something. When you open the door the pressure is equal but with the door closed the fan needs to push the air through the evaporator and return again and circle through fan again. I think soon would be a good time to unplug the refrigerator and remove the back panel covering the evaporator and fan motor to inspect the fan, shaft play and the evaporator for frost buildup or any obstruction of air flow. My problem is with the ice maker and the water
I've found that the water valve that provides water to the refrig is often only partially opened back up after a repair. They need to be fully open to provide full flow.
This seems to be your case since the problem is with both the I/M and the water output. They both are slow, and both get the have the same water source.

You should be able to see the fan spinning if you look under the frige with a flashlight to the back or feel air flow (tissue paper helps) coming from underneath it. As for the center column, if you mean the divider area between sides, that being real hot means the compressor refrigerant is overheated. It should be warm to touch not hot. Sounds like your condensor fan is out or packed full of dust bunnies and not spinning. The compressor will overheat and "trip" the thermal overload on and off so you do need that cooling fan. All the underside of the frige needs to be clean and clear of hair, pet fuzz, etc. in order to cool properly. The fan is likely out of warranty but they are cheap and easy to replace by a homeowner.
FILTER NOT WORKING
Water will run through a filter until it's clogged. Check the filter by removing the end that goes into the refrigerator. If it flows, it's still open. It should be replaced after 6 years though. If water doesn't come out of the filter but still floew through the refrigerator, it's connected wrong.
Noise on the ice maker
I think you are having the same issue that I am having. My noise is being caused due to ice build up around the fan inside the freezer. There is a switch when you open the door that causes the fan to shut off, hence the reason the noise stops when you open the door.
I pulled the cover (just below the ice maker) and removed the ice that had built up. Only problem is that after three days the noise is back. I think there may be a bigger problem that is causing the ice to build up around the fan.
Water is not coming out
the water resevour is proberbly frozen inside of the refrigerator. Open the door and remove the bins in the refrigerator and you will see a resevour tank. take a hair drier and heaqt up the tubing that comes out of it until the water flows again.
Fridge noise
- Hissing and popping is normal on frost free refrigerators, it is the defrost heater.
- Check that the refrigerator is level.
- Check the drain pan.
- Check the condensor fan.
- Check the evaporator fan.
- Inspect the compressor mounts.
