ask them your 3g? service provider and the HP hardware 3g does not work there. It is a bios setting press F2 at power-up to enter setupand change the screen behavior on battery.

It sounds like if your screen stays lit fairly well during BIOS that is would be an issue with the Operating systems settings themselves. If you are using windows i would look for any options that may have something to do with display lightness darkness contrast anything really. Also see if you can hold the Fn key on your key board and locate a sun or light bulb with an up arrow beside it. While holding the Fn key press the light bulb or sun several times and see if that helps.

if your cd/dvd rom is not among the list of devices listed. it might be that the device is faulty. follow these steps to confirm that the device is listed. from Start Menu - computer - System Properties -Device manager if the device is ok it should be listed in the device manager like in the image.

Have you forgotton your password. If no - go to BIOS and change the password from within If yes - you need to remove the CMOS battery for few seconds and replace it. The BIOS password is removed. You can put a new one
