It is difficult to help you without more information.
Please provide details of the program that is causing the problem, and error messages.

Henry,

You will need to have the program installed on your computer to open the file that you are wanting to open. For ex. If you were sent a word file and you go to open it you would get an error saying the file does not have a program associated with it to open it. You would need to install Word to open the file. What is the file or file ext. you are trying to open?

Thank You,

This is malware which has infected your computer. This site is trying to extort money and info from you. Do you have anti-virus software installed on your computer? If so, it's not working. You will need to use another computer to download an anti virus and malware program onto a bootable CD or USB flash drive and run the program.

here are some troubleshooting steps: like before remove the battery and the AC adapter, then connect just the AC, see if the LED on the adapter goes out or stays on. If it goes out, see if another adapter (known good is available) or see if you can try one at Bestbuy or such. If the system powers on, then replace the AC adapter.
If no power with a known good AC adapter, then the failure is likely the motherboard or the power board. You can try the powerboard 1st

I would suspect the Graphics Adapter, if a external monitor isn't working. Have you done any Graphic, or other updates? You get no monitor at boot? Black , no cursor? Nothing? Any damage? Drop? Jarred? Fall over? If it's the graphic adapter, on a laptop, usually it can't be replaced, it's integrated into the Mobo.

Unfortunately you don't say if this is for windows or for the laptop itself.

If it is the laptop that is asking for a password prior to starting windows you will need to
take it and proof of ownership to a Dell technician and they can reset the password. This
is the policy followed by all laptop brands.

If it is windows you can log on as administrator and reset the password or delete the user account ( you may loose your documents if you have them saved under my documents). If you can log on under admin then you can also download and use password recovery software. That usually will work but not all the time. If nothing works then your choice is down to reinstalling windows. You shouldn't loose any of your documents this way. If your not comfortable with doing this stuff any good tech at a computer store will be able to help you.

You would require an installation media to re-install OS, So you can't do it without CD or USB thumb drive with installation file. You can call dell @ 8006249896 and ask them for OS disk, If you wouldn't have received with the computer, they will be sending it to you free of cost and it will only take 2 to 3 business days for you to receive those than you can re-install OS.

Writing references is a pretty easy thing to do, however your teacher or lecturer or whomever is making you do the report should have taught you how to do references correctly (or at least in the manner they want them.)

You should speak to the lecturer/teacher/whoever about how they want it done.

There is a good guide at:

http://www.factmonster.com/homework/t8biblio.html

that shows you how to write a good set of references. It is very important on references to write the name of the author (if there are more than one author on a book, write three names and "et al" at the end.

It is also important to write what date the book was published, or the book's ISBN number. This is crucial, especially in scientific reports, as publications can be revised year-by-year.

When citing online articles, it is also equally important to cite the date that the resource was accessed, as online resources can change on a whim.

It is also very important not to cite material that use references themselves for building their data, for example citing Wikipedia is a poor choice, as Wikipedia itself cites its references. It is always important to reference to original material, like Wikipedia does.

Speaking of wikipedia, look at the reference material on any site, and look how it cites references.

e.g: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gregorian_calendar#References

It is also possible that you're expected to note what your references refer to in your work.

In this case, just like wikipedia's notes, you note the material you've references to with, for example, a [1], then in your bibliography write [1] followed by where you referenced that section from.

But this really depends on what is exactly expected of you by your teacher.

I hope this helps.
