Where can I get brushes for the motor

Congratulations! It takes a LOT of use to wear-out a set of brushes. Many electric motors of the same size regardless of brand or application use the same carbon brushes. Start by downloading a manual online. Look to see if it contains a parts list then contact the mfg to order. If they are not offered measure the brush or photograph it and search online or contact a power tool service center - they will stock many brushes and can probably match up a set.

My gear will turn without having the chain on .

I wasn't familiar with your saw but I looked at the parts diagram for it in the link below thinking there may be a replaceable drive pin or something like it that would possibly have sheared. http://www.masterparts.net/111409-01.htmlI didn't see any. That would indicate that the sprocket may be stripped out on the inside and would require replacement, or, that there is something stripped inside the gearcase. If you look at the diagram, the motor shaft is parallel with the handle. So to drive the sprocket gear that drives the chain, they use gears inside the housing to turn the sprocket that's at a right angle to the motor shaft. Do you follow me? It would appear from the parts diagram that if it is those internal gears, that it would require replacement of the whole motor/gear assembly ...... probably as expensive as a whole new saw!The reason that the sprocket turns without the chain on is that there is evidently enough friction between the shaft that the sprocket mounts on, and, the sprocket. But not enough of a connection to drive the chain. To check further, leave the saw unplugged, and use your finger to try to turn the sprocket. If it turns by hand like that, it would indicate that something is stripped out as I said. To see if it is the sprocket, remove the "Retaining Ring, 5/16" that is shown in the diagram, and inspect the inside of the sprocket. If that appears good, then it would be an internal problem and probably not worth fixing.Good luck!Ed

THE CHAIN SAW RUNS. THE

I don't mean to sound offensive, but is the chain on the right way? I've put 'em on backwards, even started the saw before I noticed. And is the chain running when the motor runs?

If the chain is right then you may have gotten a chain with a bad grind. Never heard of it but it could sure happen. Get back with me if the chain is right and it's turning- we'll get it to cut.

Where can I get brushes

Parts for Remington saws are few and far between. Brushes are a common failure point and those available have about been bought up. You best chance is to check with a well-stocked hardware store or an electric tool repair shop for a similar brush from a different tool. You may have to modify something similar to fit. Good luck!

Should be a nut on the side of chainsaw that covers the chain, sometimes all that is needed is to loosen nut them pull outwards on chain bar and retighten nut. Chain should have some play in it so dont make the chain hug the bar tightly. There is also an adjustment screw next to the bar that will tighten and loosen the chain but is used for small adjustments only.

How do u un bolt from pole

Apparently, although the two halves are screwed together, the unit is riveted to the pole. Those rivets appear to hold the housing together. On mine, it stopped rotating and I think the commutater brushes are bad. I may drill out the rivets, repair the motor and bolt the unit back to the pole (in place of the rivets). horny385, you are a **** and not clever or helpful.

My new Remington Branch Wizard was taken from the

Take it back. Remington Power is no longer in production anyway. You will eventually need parts that you will not be able to find.

Is the chain excessively tight? Remove the Sprocket cover, bar and chain. Actuate the switch momentarily while watching the sprocket gear (item 11).
http://www.masterparts.net/111409-01.html
Did it rotate? If no there is likely a failure in the gear train inside the power head (not repairable). If it rotates I suspect the chain was improperly installed or over tightened.

If you have more questions or need additional help please reply below and I will get back to you. Thank you for using FixYa and Good Luck. HTH

My motor and the circular gear inside goes around

Try bolting the bar to the case without the guard cover in place so that you can observe what is happening that the chain sprocket is not being driven. There may be a large spring that has broken or relaxed it's tension to prevent driving the sprocket. Be sure to keep your fingers out of the way when the chain starts moving. Good luck!

Chain keeps falling off bar afterwhen saw is

Reinstall the chain. Do NOT connect power. Mark one link (chalk, crayon, etc.) wear gloves and try to rotate the chain one complete revolution. Is this possible? No - remove the chain and remove burrs from the sides of the drive links with a flat file.

Yes - inspect the sprocket gear (KEY NO. - 11) pn 111363-01 new pn 122520-01 NLA, is it deeply grooved or perhaps worn through?

I'm going to get smacked as I have so many times before. The only thing RemingtonPower is producing today is unhappy customers. Replacement parts are exhausted. we aren't affiliated and had nothing to do with their decision to stop production.

Burrs on the chain or a defective sprocket are the most likely causes of your problem. If the gear is bad, there are no replacement parts available and I cannot help you further except to recommend you purchase a name brand replacement. Select a company you think will have replacement parts when you need them sometime in the future.

Chain adjustment
  1. Make sure the chain brake is off (gloves will protest your fingers).
  2. If necessary, loosen the bar nuts that are clamping the clutch cover in place (or whatever holds the clutch cover and bar on). They don't need these really loose - finger tight will do.
  3. Ease the tension adjustment until the chain is obviously loose.
  4. Using one hand, hold the nose of the bar up.
  5. While holding the nose up, adjust the tensioner so that the center of the chain just touches the underside of the bar, add a touch more.
  6. Continue holding the nose of the bar up & tighten up the bar nuts / bolts / quick-release system.
Your rating of our help is the only payment we get for this service. I provided as much help as humanly possible. Punishing me for your disappointment with RemingtonPower isn't fair to me. I hope I answered your question. Thanks. A few kind words would be appreciated.

Need brushes for 111409-1 motor

Remington has ceased production. Parts availability is limited to what is on hand. Probably time to purchase a new pole saw. Purchase the cheapest product on the shelf and in 5 years they will be out of business too. Poulan and McCulloch (electric) have been in business for a very long time, I expect they will continue to provide a quality product with service after the sale for many years to come. HTH
