HelloThe laser pickup lens of your DVD payer is either dirty of faulty. Just put in a claeaning disc, and play if for at least three times. If there is any dust or dirt accumulated on the lens, the cleaning disc will clean it up. If this does not help you, laser pickup assmebly should be replaced with same type and number. OK.

Discs spinning after being loaded, that's a positive sign, but 'No READ' or 'No Disc' usually means the laser has failed or its output is too weak to read DVDs (DVD players tend to spin discs at a faster speed with a higher read rate than CD decks (obviously to read the video data as well as audio per disc, the optical/laser voltage rating is higher for DVD). So they are more likely to fail quicker than CD lasers but not always.

In short, since the unit is only a player, and may not be brand new or under any warranty, consider replacing it with a new unit or perhaps a DVD recorder (or even a Blu-Ray player - as they are becoming cheaper to buy now) - the cost of repairs/parts for this one would be higher than a new one and not economical, although you can always submit it to a service centre and get a quote (and a second opinion) on the likely cost(s) of parts/repairs involved. It won't be cheap, trust me.

The second way can't work - the box doesn't have input connections so you were connecting the player to output ones = no connection.
The box and the player must be connected separately to separate AV inputs on the tv - make sure the colors of the jacks match otherwise nothing will work.
If the player is correctly connected and it doesn't work then you must do some testing:
1 - make sure the correct AV input is selected in the tv's menu.
2 - make sure that the AV input is operational: plug the box in it and see if it works. If it doesn't then the fault is in the tv, you will have to call a repairman to see what's wrong - most likely the AV switcher has failed and will have to be replaced.
3 check the player itself: plug it in another tv and see if it works there.

I recently discovered that eTec Electronic products are cheap Chinese imports brought into the US through a company called Schoenfeld International in Bloomington, Minnesota. They contend that there are NO Service manuals or schematics for ANY of their products because their products are so cheap, they're not worth repairing. Basically they're saying, "If it breaks, throw it away and buy another one!"

Hi...The only other thing you can do is:
UNPLUG from the AC..Take the top case off and see if there is any access to the laser lens..( very small "1/8th inch" clear plastic)
If you can , clean it( VERY lightly) with swab of 90% alcohol

try INPUT button or SOURCE button

Are you sure you are selecting the Audio Visual Input? The wire are color to color Yellow to Yellow, Red to Red, White to White. Ensure you have it in the correct Video IN and Audio IN and have selected and the correct AV input on the TV.

No, that dvd player is not able to do that.

Straighten a paperclip. On the face of most disk players there is a small hole. Push the paper clip into the hole, and the disk tray should release. Pull the tray out to it's full extension. Power being on or off is immaterial. Hope this help.

my rca dvd player model # drc277 will not play .i put a dvd in and it opens and closes. Is there a code to play all region disc?

There is no code to get it started for the first time. If you bought them brand new from the store then you need to return them and get new ones.

If you purchased them off of someone, then I would almost assume they sold you bad dvd players.

The reasons for a cd tray to not come out are A. The motor that turns the gears is not working properly thus not opening the drawer. B. The gears aren't connecting properly and are unable to push the drawer out like there supposed to. (Typically you will hear some clicking or grinding noises if this is the case).
