Have this error Oxcooooe9 and have start up cd what key should I press to make system accept it to reformat hard drive?
this is a "STOP" error or Blue Screen Of Death (BSOD) There IS no 'key' you can press to fix it, you can only shut-off the computer, and turn it back on again. As to what is causing it, that Stop error means:STOP Error 0x000000E9: ACTIVE_EX_WORKER_THREAD_TERMINATIONIt is VERY unusual. I've never seen it doing repairs for 20+years.My suggestions are to: Make sure you have a clean CD/DVD for the Operating System you are installing. If you are installing Vista or Win 7 with more than 2GB of RAM, do it below 2GB, if you have two 4GB RAM modules, then remove one of them and try it.

I want to reset it
@lslchrisorei
Toshiba laptops have a built-in recovery mode on the system wherein you don't
need to use a disc to restore it to factory default (if that's what you mean by "I want to reset it". The hotkey for the
recovery is the 0 key (don't
use the key on the numpad). To activate it, you need to
turn the computer off, then you need to hold the 0 key then turn the
computer back ON. If you hear a continuous beep, you can let go of the
key and It will then say "Windows is loading files" and will proceed with System Recovery. If
this doesn't work, that means that this computer doesn't have the hidden
partition for you to restore the unit to factory defaults (either it's
faulty or it's not there) and you need to order the recovery discs from
Toshiba at 1-800-457-7777 (for US) and
for Canada, it's 1-800-663-0378.
If you're still under warranty, they'll give it to you for
free.
Cheers

Was working fine.... power whent out at house....
Try booting it into safe mode by intercepting the boot up when the first screen comes up by hitting either F8 or F2, depending on your system. If you can't get in to windows this way, insert the cd that came with the computer, or a windows cd, and enter in to recovery mode. If you have the option to do a system restore, try that, you will not lose any file this way. If you can't do any of the above options, then a full system recovery is your only option. Do a google search for any errors or error messages that are popping up to specifically target what is happening with your system.

Make sure your harddrive is recognized in bios.
Disable SATA and set first boot device as harddrive then save settings and exit bios.
then check. This problem is related to harddrive recognization in bios.
Let me know if you need further assistance.
Thanks for using Fixya.

HI NEED TO KNOW WHY
Most of the time Windows will stay on a blank screen with the cursor on because the explorer.exe can't start.
This is the program that is responsible for your task bar, browsing your files etc,
98 % of the time it is currupt by spyware or virus.
