My D90 sometimes has an err message and also a CHA

CHA indicates a problem with the SD card. ERR indicates a camera malfunction. Try reformatting the card which may clear the problem or try a different card. The card may be creating the ERR message. On page 259 of the D-90 users manual, Nikon says this error can be cleared by releasing the shutter but the shutter will not release unless you turn the camera off and back on. Rarely, I have to remove the battery and reinstall it before the shutter will release. The camera will not function at all until the battery is reinstalled. If you cannot resolve this problem using the above suggestions, I'd recommend that you contact Nikon technical support at www.nikon.com and see if they can help.

Gps-1 not working on my d90, it say option not

The D-90 does not come with an internal GPS. However, one can be connected. If you have connected a GPS and are getting this error message, I would suggest you contact both Nikon at www.nikon.com and the GPS manufacturer to get help in troubleshooting the problem.

I am only a starter. I have a 15mm-105mm lens kit lens

That's a question only you can answer. Both are fine lenses. What kind of photography do you want to do? The 50mm is generally better for portraits, while the 35mm will be better for landscapes. Neither is very good for sports or wildlife.

Need a Nikon D90 user manual in chinese

Under these circumstances, the best suggestion I can make is to use Google translate or one of the other translation sites and translate as much as you can piece by piece until you have translated and printed out that entire manual. That's a lot of material and it will take a while. I would start with the basic stuff first then get additional translations as she needs them. Good luck!!!

How to set self timer for D90

Instructions for this are on Page 179 of the D-90 users manual. First go to the menu and select the custom settings menu then scroll down to "timers/AF Lock." Select this then select the number of shots you want the camera to take at one time on the self timer setting. Exit the menu. Then go to the top of the camera and find the little button to the right of the control panel which contains a series of stacked rectangles. Depress this button (camera must be on) and the control panel will clear. Rotate the wheel on the back of the camera while holding the button down until you see a little clock symbol. If you have set it in the menu to take only one shot, you will see only the little clock. If you have set it to take multiple shots you will see the series of stacked rectangles next to the little clock. Depress the shutter fully then walk or run to get in the picture. Just before the picture shoots, the autofocus light will flash warning you that the picture is about to be taken. The camera will shoot in the amount of time you have selected in the menu. If you want to shoot another delayed shutter picture, repeat the procedure using the button and wheel.

I inserted memory card with pictures on it, cant take but 2 pictures and it says its full.

You need to clear your memory card by either transferring the photos to your computer or by formatting the memory card. If you've already downloaded the photos but failed to erase them from the card, formatting will take care of that.

HOw do you unlock memory card on D70 NIKON

All SD cards I have ever seen can be locked with a little slide on the left side as you face the label. if the slide is up, the card is unlocked and can be used for taking pictures. If the slide is down, it is in the locked position, which prevents it from overwriting anything that is currently on the card. Before you unlock it you may want to verify that all pictures on the card (if any) have been saved because once you start using the card and overwriting its contents, the pictures are gone forever. If the card is empty, just unlock it, format it and start taking pictures

Flashing letter f

This message indicates the camera is not communicating with the lens. Usually it's just a problem with dirty contacts on the lens or on the camera. This often can be fixed by pushing the lens release button down and holding it down while you rotate the lens several times (about 10) without actually removing it. What you are doing is cleaning the contacts on both camera and lens. This usually will take care of the problem.

I have nikon D90 SLR. with 18-135mm lens , i want to record a video with it but a videos quality is really low .. should I change a setting or something else?

Press the menu button and go to the shooting menu (the little camera icon). Scroll down to "movie settings." there are three quality settings. Select the one you want then try a test shot. The higher quality setting (1280 X 720 pixels) uses more memory. The default setting is 640 x 424 pixels and the lowest quality setting which uses the least amount of memory is 320 x 216 pixels. Sound is off by default so if you want to record sound with your video, you need to turn the microphone on in this menu as well.

Restore factory settings for the camera nikon d90

There are two ways to reset your settings to the factory default settings on the D-90. First, next to the control panel window on the top of the camera are two buttons (+/- and AF) marked with little green dots. Hold these two buttons down together for more than two seconds and factory defaults will be restored to all settings except custom settings. All settings, including custom settings, can be restored from the menu with the little pencil icon. Instructions and details can be found in the users manual on pages, 75, 172 and 260. If you have misplaced your manual copies are available for download on this site and on the Nikon website at www.nikon.com.

Says FuLL won't take pictures

FULL indicates that your SD card is full and either must be cleared by formatting the card which will rase all the pictures or the pictures need to be downloaded to your computer and then erased from the card. You can also install a new card if you want to continue shooting and still save the pictures on the full card.

What does error message "r18" mean on a Nikon D90?

Is this actually preventing you from shooting? Normally, the r-number shows up when you press the shutter release button to show the number of shots you can take in the current burst before the buffer fills up. It shouldn't keep you from shooting.

Nikkon 1 taking picture looks blurrry

Your posting is confusing. On the one hand you say that the problem is with a Nikon 1 camera and on the other hand you are saying that the problem is with a D90. These are two very different camera systems. If it is a Nikon 1, it is a new camera and within the one year warranty. You should contact Nikon on there website. If, on the other hand, it is a D90, the first thing you need to do is determine if the problem is in the camera body or the lens. The easiest way to do that is to switch lenses. If you do not have another lens, go to a camera store and they will probably be happy to let you try one of there lenses on your camera. Once you know where the problem is, we can decide how to proceed.

My d90 flashes an err sign somtimes when i shoot

Try shooting in manual mode with lens set at maximum (wide open) aperture. Then try at a smaller f-stop, say 5.6 or 8. If the error message appears when your lens is set to the smaller aperture, you could have a lens problem. Try another lens using the same test. If a known good lens gives an error message, then the problem is in the body. Also try zooming to different focal lengths and see if your 18-105mm gives the error at particular focal lengths. An error here would indicate a lens problem. In any case, your lens or body would have to be repaired by a professional as these repairs require major disassembly and re-calibration.

At times my D90 camera freezes up for seemingly no

There are two kinds of error messages with D90 . mainly , F-- and ERR .

F-- , this is due to lens and camera not in contact properly. So you need to take out lens and put it back securely again.

ERR - This is when camera malfunctions.

For above two problems , usually if you switch off/on your camera then this problem should go away. If not then re-insert you batteries.

If its a recurrent problem then i suggest you check with your dealer. You can also refer to manaul for the messages.
