The gun dose not fire the pin all the way in ?

Dewalt list the obvious causes below.
Remember that the gun may not facilitate the use on specific materials that are just too much for the gun to handle. The most common cause for this issue is depth adjustment is not set properly. Also make sure that the nails being used are the correct nails for the gun. Its possible to buy the wrong type and they look very similar to the ones needed.

When battery gets plugged in lights come on but

Does the motor run but does not fire a nail? If this is the case chances are the belt came off the flywheel. This is one of the most common problems when these will not fire.
If the headlights go on but the motor does not run it could be a bad switch or contact trip.

I have only used my Dewalt DC616KA Finish Nailer

if its even close to being under warranty your local dewalt service center might be agreeable to taking care of it for you if you ask nicely :)

the driver blade may be bent/broken or one of the multiple plastic pieces inside may have cracked or chipped, keeping the driver from travelling the full distance. the blade fits into the "profile" which may be somehow damaged or worn to the point of malfunction. there are two bumpers that fit on the profile and these may have slipped, cracked, etc.

even if none of these parts are so damaged as to be defective, even a tiny piece chipped off could be impeding the function of the assembly. but my guess is that's where your problem is.

ONLY SHOOTS ALL THE WAY PART TIME

Okay you could have a couple problems there are power bands that retract the driver. They are under the front cover. Also the is a part called a profile and driver that actually drives the driver and pushing the nail into the wood. I had one that seemed to work OK but wouldn't drive completely as you describe and I had to replace the profile and driver. If you are uncomfortable with this type of repair I would suggest taking it to a DeWalt store and having them fix it. They have a max repair rate and will replace everything that is wrong including batterys if need be for one price. But before you attempt any repairs I would go to the DeWalt website and get a copy of the breakdown first. Good luck and let me know.

Adjustment of sharpened cutter of porter cable 653 versa plane

There are two adjustments. First find the screw on the right side that allows loosening of rear baseplate. Once loose, another screw jacks the base up or down. They are both hex heads on mine.

Turn jack screw until a straight edge along the base just clears the cutter. Spin the cutter once to make sure both edges are the same depth and that both clear the straight edge.

For the front shoe, turn adjustment handle to zero. Remove the adjustment handle from the front shoe and find two vertical slots at the front. Two screws (hex heads) allow loosening of shoe. Once loose, the shoe can be adjusted by sliding up or down. With a straight edge held along the rear base and touching the front base, align the front shoe so straight edge barely clears blade and tighten screws. The front and back base should line up. Replace adjustment lever and recheck zero cut clearance as well as maximum depth. Readjust as necessary. If zero clearance is not an issue, the bases can be set to allow deeper cuts than factory specified. It's a powerful planer so if you're cutting softer woods, a deeper cut might be desired.

My dewalt 1223 brad nailer will not fire

The nailer must be firmly pressed against the surface you are planning to nail. This will arm the nailer in preparation for firing the nail.
