Is it possible to replace the batteries in a 12v m...

Unfortunately there are no repairable parts in a battery. Once a battery is dead it's usually best to find a good recycling center for it, most The Home Depot's have one. Makita lists battery 1234 (Part #193157-5) for this tool but it's the old Ni-MH battery. I'd use battery 1222 (Part #192598-2), it's the better Ni-Cd battery.

Drill just stopped working it was working fine on

Could be the battery(s) went dead, possible but usually two batteries won't go at the same time. If you're sure the batteries are OK, check the 'headlight' when you squeeze the trigger. If it isn't coming on it's the battery or the switch may have burned out. Next, check the brushes. They're under the two caps at the back of the case. The carbon should be about 3/8 to 1/4 inch long and the springs should be in one piece and strong enough to push the brushes down on the armature. Next, put a drive bit in the chuck and check that the armature turns freely. There will be some resistance because the transmission is geared from the motor to the chuck but it should turn smoothly.

Can't separate case to replace broken switch

Have you removed the front housing? It has 4 screws that go into the handle halves and must be removed. As far as internal clips there are none. If you removed the front sometimes the handles stick together and you have to hold each piece and gently pull apart. Hope this helps

How to pull apart makita 6980 impact wrench

the battery is removed. remove all screws around the outside of the drill/driver. the side comes off. the motor is a johnson motor connected to the planetary drive and hammer/anvil assembly. the motor drive extends inside the anvil via one gear off the motor. the hammer and anvil come out as one piece. if you depress the center of theanvil with an arbor press, two ball bearings come out and the escapment comes out with the spring. now you can clean the inside of the hammer and gears of the hammer drive.

Makita 12v impact driver- no reverse

I would suggest that you go to Makitatools.com and type in your model number and look at the breakdown for complete disassembly procedures. The only problem it could be it the tab on the switch or the shift lever is broken I would have to think it is the switch. Let me know if I can help more.

Can't get the keyless chuck off cordless Makita 6095D drill.

If this is a newer tool it is probably a Torx drive screw usually a T20. The screw is LH thread and after removing it you will need to put some screws back in tool to remove the chuck. First shift the gear selector to the low setting and the clutch to the drill only. Next get a bent handle allen wrench about the capacity of the chuck install the short end of wrench in chuck and tighten. Put the chuck on a block or wood or a workbench to support is and turn the wrench to about a 30 degree angle in the counterclockwise position. The chuck has standard threads so you want to hit the wrench with a hammer to loosen it. This might take a few tries but it will work. Good luck

I have two Makita chargers and three batteries of various ages. battery chargers no longer charge the batteries.

Do you leave them plugged into the mains all the time? Voltage spike possibly. They can be repaired, but you need the model number in the search query. https://www.google.com/search?q=Makita+charger+repair ..

Electric Makita HP2051 chuck won't close

I don't really know how a chuck works. I use them often on a drill press, cordless drills, etc. My grandfather always said to "check the simple things first." Could something have gotten in the way like saw dust, dirt.....? ? I might suggest trying using compressed air and blow it out? You can buy a can of compressed air at office depot.
