action replay
when i plug in my ds and load code manager it says waiting for ds even though it is plugged in
IF you are running Vista 64, the issue is the driver on the disk is incompatible, thus the pc will never see the ds. However, I have found a workaround. First make sure the DS is on and plugged in and the Action replay Manager is launched. On the DS click on the mouse so it should read updating software. Then, go into device Manager via the Control Panel, there you will see NDS and an exclamation mark. Right click and choose to update the driver or properties. Then choose Browse My computer for driver software... then let me pick from a list... then fo the manufacturer shoose: Standard USB Host Controller and for the Model choose Unknown. It will pick it up instantlly. Voila.. Good Luck! and what a pain!! V

I started up my Action Replay, and although it used to work, whenever it tries to read a game, the top screen says "unknown game." I cannot find a straight answer anywhere as to why it would do this or how to fix it. Can somebody PLEASE help me? If I can't fix it soon, I'll probably snap and just stick it in my garbage disposal to see what happens. Thanks, y'all!
Yeah mine did that to.
Now to fix it you may lose all of your codes but your Ar recognizes your game.
1. Get the code for your game. Its written under unknown game.
2. write that code down somewhere and turn off the council. (The whole game)
3. remove the game but insert the Action replay. And go to add new game or something of the like. the button you use to add codes takes you there.
4. punch in the game code that you wrote down in step 1. after punching in the name of the game.
5. once it is added to the game list shut off council again.
6. reinsert game disk and action replay. It should recognize your game now.
7.your codes are gone. which sucks. (or maybe its because I messed it up to the point that i reset my code list) I reccommend finding and copy/pasting the codes you had in a word doccument of some form and saving in the computer as you go just in case. E-mail it to yourself so you can acess the saved codes anywhere. sorry for the inconvenience. when mine went out i tried to fix it with the game was in the AR and all I got were blue/red stripes pulling a freaky. Thats why its hard to fix. The manuel is vauge around troubleshooting.
Sorry for your troubles have a nice day.

I have installed the action replay code manager and I tried connecting my action replay to my computer. However, the manager doesnt seem to know that my ar is in my ds, that it is on and it is turned on. There was an error message that said: You need to connect your Action Replay before it can be updated.
Many are experiencing this, what you are looking at here is a faulty action replay. go to the Datel website and submit your serial number to them, it will immediatly say whether or not your AR is from the time period when they had a problem with the internal USB reading system, if it is, then send it in and one will be shipped withing 10-12 weeks

The driver file is not on the cd that came with the action replay. All I get is an interminable search for the driver. Please advise where the driver can be downloaded from
Hi
You can download your drivers from this page: Driver Update Software.
Wish you best of luck

When i try to transfer data from my computerto my action replay i get "Failed to write a file to your action replay (Not enough free space)"
Munchlax is a **** who thinks he's funny. His "solution" is ridiculous. Here's the real answer.
You corrupted the data when you turned off the DS while it was trying to write. Now you have to reset it. To do that, turn off the DS, then hold down A+B. Keep holding them down while you turn on the DS. Just before the message that this product is not endorsed by Nintendo, and while still holding down A+B, hold down Start+Select. Keep holding all these down until the Enter Game Card screen comes up. It's tricky to keep all the buttons held down, so you might have to try it a few times before it's really reset. You'll know if it's reset because you'll be able to copy a code over to your DS. That's it.

I have bought an action replay ds v. 1.52. When I tried to connect it to the computer, all the code manager says is, "Waiting for DS." I put the USb cabel in right, but it still isn't working... Any help? Thanks! when i connect the ards to my computer, it won't update and every time i connect it, i get the device connect failed sound.
Go here: http://www.datelcustomerservice.com/product_help/NDS_ARDS_Help.html#WinXP. Scroll down to "Q: My Action Replay is not being recognized by the Code Manager Software, it just says waiting for DS in the left window; what do I do?" click that and read & follow the steps carefully.
