I purchased a set of
Go into control panel, then go to device manager and see Audio devices. Check to see if your Realtek is listed as your default audio device. If it isn't you have to add hardware and add the audio device using your setup disk that should of came with the computer. If the audio device is set up and working in device manager then check your cable from the mother board to the jack on the audio out that is mounted on the mother board. Finally if non of that works see if you can borrow a set of speakers to try to see if they work with your setup.

Hi, you need to check for problems with your sound driver. To do this go to start, control panal, system, then hardware and finally device manager. If there is a problem your audio device will be highlighted with a yellow ?. You will need to down load and install the latest sound driver for your system. If you are not sure which one; you can do a google search, or try the Realtek AC'97 sound driver, which is free to down load from a google search.

The sound on the speakers
Try using an earphone on the system, if it works properly ( that is if the sound is good and normal) than probably your sound IC needs to be replaced as it is wearing out.

I am running windows 7 ultimate, using a p5q pro mobo with realtek onboard sound, or lack there of, tried all manner of drivers, none work, so i bought a sound card, a creative 5.1 vx...still have the
click start right click on computer select properties then device manager scroll to sound and video game controllers if you see a yellow question/exclamation mark or a red X the driver will need to
be updated if you computer came with a motherboard disk the drivers could be on it although once speakers are connected widows 7 should automatically update the drivers
right click on the speaker icon in the bottom taskbar select playback devices make sure it has a green tick and the correct speakers are selected
click start control panel hardware and sound manage audio devices playback you might have to set a default go for via high definition audio then right click on speaker
you might have to configure them then select properties you will see tabs general level in this tab make sure your settings are loud enough also enhancements and advanced from the drop down
list in the advanced tab select dvd quality or another then apply

Not sound and audio
i found i needed to down load a different driver on the computore so i could hear anything
The speakers will not turn

click start control panel sounds and audio,volume,advanced,speakers make sure you have selected the
(((appropriate speakers))) also audio you will find 3 drop down lists make sure you have the correct settings there
also
click start control panel sounds and audio devices select advanced there might be a tick in the mute box untick it
if his does not fix the problem
click start control panel sounds and audio devices you can adjust the volume there also select speaker volume you can change your settings there you can also tick in the box place icon in taskbar for any further volume control settings you will need to right click on the volume icon system select adjust volume
click start control panel sounds and audio,volume,advanced,speakers select the appropriate speakers from the drop down list or navigate to the device manager scroll to system devices + to expand,system speaker right click properties then select use this device (enable) also you might check
the speakers plug/outlet is usually at the back of the computer you will have to open up the computer to check the lead attached to the rear of the input plug make sure the connection is good
try cleaning your computer of dust using a fine air blower from a compressor making VERY sure that there is no MOISTURE in the air line specifically around the sound card and the CPU central processing unit dust causes static to build up in a computer

click start control panel hardware and sound manage audio devices playback you should see your speakers right click select enable or you might have to configure them this option will be at the bottom of of the playback list also right click on the speaker select properties you should see a few tabs general levels enhancement and advanced you might find you need to select a different option possibly stereo or dvd or studio quality
click start control panel sounds and audio devices you can adjust the volume there also select speaker volume you can change your settings there you can also tick in the box place icon in taskbar for any further changes to your sound setting by right clicking on the speaker icon in the taskbar(bottom of screen) hope this helps
I have a problem with my speakers and i can'nt
click start control panel administrive tools computer management device manager scroll to cd/dvd rom drives right click properties then properties again then tick enable cd digital cd audio for this cd rom device or scroll to dvd regions select the no _ for your specific area
you might need to select stereo speakers

try swapping the speakers around if the problem still persists either the speaker is faulty
the speakers plug/outlet is usually at the back of the computer you will have to open up the computer to check the lead attached to the rear of the input plug make sure the connection is good
try cleaning your computer of dust using a fine air blower from a compressor making VERY sure that there is no MOISTURE in the air line specifically around the CPU central processing unit and your sound card dust causes static to build up in a computer causing it to overheat any many other problems

make sure you have an earth ******** before touching any parts inside your computer

When i play music, the

Try going to control panel,audio,settings.Make sure your speakers are set to 5.1 surround sound.
Next if there is software for these speakers or your audio device be sure it is also set for surround sound.
