Monitor will not turn back

Verify that you have 120 VAC coming in. If this is TRUE; You probably have a blown SEL fuse. You did not say whether or not you get a green, yellow, orange, red light on the front indicator LEDs? This will also verify if power is being supplied to the unit. Did you have a surge suppessor between the wall power outlet and the monitor? Voltage spikes can kill these monitors. TCC

Vertical lines all over the screen can be due to failed T-CON board on the LCD panel assembly, or poor DC voltgaes in the logic and power supply board. You need to look inside first. This can be very expensive repair if it needs new LCD panel. See my repair guide to see if that is what you are seeing.

If this is a screen with a removeable vga cable, try using a different cable (borrow one from a friend for an hour just to test). Then try another laptop on this monitor to see if the monitor is ok. if the monitor is ok, I would suggest that there is a bad connection between the motherboard and the vga socket (bad solder joint) You may be able to re-solder it yourself (if you're that way inclined) or a shop repair shouldn't be expensive.
Hope this helps.

Please check the video cable and all the pins to make sure they are OK. You may also want to try another monitor with this PC to make sure it is not the video card problem.

Hi...I have a Flatron W2234S

You can take it apart and inspect for bulging capacitors - the tops should be perfectly flat. Even a slight bulge at the top is an indication that the capacitor is bad.
