Behringer Xenyx 1002fx Mixer 10 Input 2 Bus with Efx Questions & Answers
Help behringer xenyx 1002fx !!
If you registered your mixer there will be a three year warranty so get it back to your local Behringer service depot. If not check the output from the PSU, if that's OK then I'm afraid it is very unlikey to be economical to repair. Sell it as spares and repairs on eBay.
What preset effect number is best for karaoke?
Always use echo and reverb, or just reverb for inexperienced singers. If I remember right this is from effect 19 but this is a very inflexible set-up with no control over the effects, just presets. You'll need to listen and decide what is best. You may also try chorus as with a decent effects unit this can be very effective plus a bit of reverb and echo.
Different songs like different effects and we will chop and change even in a single track when live mixing professional acts.
Whow i connect my xenyx 1002 mixer to audiophil 2496 sound card
You must connect:
the main out of the 1002, or the ctrl room out of the 1002 at your power amplifier's input.
the line in 9/10 of the 1002 at your 2496's line out.
the cd/tape out of the 1002 at your 2496's line in.
in case of a cd connect it's line out at line in 3/4, or line in 7/8 of 1002
some mic at the mic 1 or mic 2 of 1002.
That's the way you're going to have control for:
the mic level from channel 1 or 2.
cd level from channel 3/4 or 7/8.
pc playback from channel 9/10.
master speakers from main mix or ctrl room.
All the above connections are not absolute and may vary depending on your needs.

I am hooking up a Behringer xenyx 1002B Mic/Line
IF your Laptop has a stereo LINE 1/8" INPUT jack, you can take the Stereo ( Left & Right ) LINE outputs on your mixer and feed into this jack on your PC. You will need a 1/4" dual plug for the mixer end to a single 1/8" stereo plug on the PC end. I suspect the problem you are having is either related to your PC only have a MIC input jack or you have something set wrong in your PC's sound config. file. More information is needed to properly solve the problem.
Behringer Xenyx 1222FX won't power on, only phantom power
Since the phantom power is working, it's unlikely to be hte problem at the transformer. You have to locate the ground wire of the mixer (ususally the lower end of the faders, or the ground from one of the audio connectors). Using your voltmeter you must find one point providing +15Volts and another one providing -15Volts at each of the input stages. I think that the problem is that one (or both) of these voltages are absent. Mention that the +15 and the -15 volts are between the ground and the apropriate pin at the input stages. In case you will not locate the +/-15Volts, or they are 0Volts, post me back for further directions.
In case of a problem or clarification, don't hesitate to post me a reply.

Monitoring vocals and cd/tape
Here is a link for the manual, can't download it but you can read it online.THESE words are written on page 9 of the manual," If you are recording a signal via the TAPE OUTPUT and wish to listen to this simultaneously via the CD/TAPE INPUT, do not use the CD/TAPE TO MIX switch. Doing this would create a feedback loop, since the signal would be routed, via the main mix, back to tape via the TAPE OUTPUT. To monitor the CD/TAPE INPUT, use the CD/TAPE TO CTRL switch to assign the tape signal to the monitor(s) or headphones. This will avoid the tape signal being routed to the TAPE OUTPUT."It also says this under that,"If you want to monitor only the efects signal in your headphones or monitor speaker(s), press the FX TO CTRL switch. Now the signal of the efects processor can be monitored alone, and the main mix andnor CDntape signal is no longer present on the phone and control room outputs."The link for manual is belowhttp://www.manualowl.com/swfviewer/viewer.php?ViewModeToolsVisible=true&FitWidthOnLoad=true&Scale=0.6&ZoomToolsVisible=true&ZoomTransition=easeOut&localeChain=en_US&FullScreenAsMaxWindow=true&SwfFile=%2Fmanualswf.php%3Fid%3D333864%26manual_type%3Dproduct%26d%3D2501bc0bd655f7f874a872da268a7ed6&ZoomTime=0.5&NavToolsVisible=true&ProgressiveLoading=true&ZoomInterval=0.1&CursorToolsVisible=true&FitPageOnLoad=false&SearchToolsVisible=true
