Probably a problem with the OS itself. I would recommend putting in your OS cd (the one that came with the computer. And restart, select the option to repair OS (or says something to that effect). This may fix the problem. If it does not try another monitor, see if it is monitor specific (I dont think so, it sounds like it is an OS problem)

the problem is with the monitor. If your computer needs drivers from LG for the monitor, you need access to another computer (or another monitor to go online).
