I will be the barer of bad news. your Panel is failing. Plasma TVs are only made to last 5-7 years. 10-12 is more realistic from what I have seen. The TH46pz85u is a great model of TV but when that starts happening it means the panel is beginning to fail. Replacing the panel is cost prohibitive and they don't even make them anymore. You will be wise to spend your money on a new TV. newer TV's are much more power efficient as well. your 46" TV draws a lot of electricity. Your TV draws almost 650Watts of power. A comparably sized TV today(55" or larger) Draws around 200 watts. Significantly less.

There should be a zoom feature on your remote press that and it will take you to diffrent modes otherwise its got to be in the menu settings of the tv itself.

There is something short circuit inside the TV. Your TV need a thorough check up. This type of fault can be occured by two reasons. The first one is with it T'Con board, and the other is with its display pane. Change input device to some other like a DVD that you are sure works. Look for loose contacts in power outlet, RC Jacks, sockets, cables. If problem persists, call in a qualified service technician.

This is the error code, indicating a failure inside the board. Might need attention by a qualified service technician.

See if leaving it unplugged overnight would reset it and solve the issue. If it does not you may have leaking capacitors on its power supply circuit or burnt parts or solders that may have gone loose.

There's a good chance you have failing electrolytic capacitors either in the power section or the inverter section or both.
Any caps in these sections that look bulged at the top, or bulged/leaking at the bottom need to be replaced.
If you repeatedly turn it off and on, eventually it'll probably stay on, but every time you turn it off, the TV will get harder and harder to start up until one day it just won't.
Sometimes you have to do the opposite to start it up and unplug it for some time and then try again.

If you are handy with a soldering iron and can identify the power supply and inverter / FM section for the backlights, an inexpensive handful of capacitors will likely fix you right up.
Match the capacitance on the capacitors. Go over voltage if you can, and still have them fit.
IE - it's not a bad idea to replace a 10V cap with a 16V or 25V or even a 50V, but don't replace a 680uF cap with a 500uF or a 1000uF (unless you are positive it's only doing ripple filtering, and even then, you should go OVER, not under the uF rating).

Most of the caps that go are 10V 1000uF or 3300uF.
