sounds like your power supply is bad. this is a big problem with samsung. Caps on the power supply swell and need replacement. this will cause tv to click on and off. Samsung is getting a classaction lawsuit filed against them for this issue.

when the picture goes black, dim the light in the room and shine a bright flashlight on the screen. If you see a faint picture, you have a backlight problem. If this issue came about after you installed the capacitors, double check the installation of your caps. Ensure that you don't have cold solder joints or broken joints!

I would start with having the power supply capacitors checked.

Most likely failed capacitors in the power supply. I am currently having the same problem with my 26 month old LN46A750. Samsung has agreed to fix this as an out of warranty "courtesy repair".

Yes,Power supply board is dead.Replaced the power supply board will solved this problems,than will have power back.Tries Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a refurbish power supply board.

Check your rca cables from your device make sure it is seated into the tv okay.

Sounds like your LCD panel is failinf and will need to be replaced it is going to be costly around 1500

You either have a bad Main bd or a bad Power Supply.

Are you getting sound through the TV from the DVD, or is the sound from the DVD coming out of your home theater/surround sound system (if you have one)?

If it has more than one HDMI port (on the TV) try changing it. If not look around in your DVD settings as it might think it is only giving audio through the HDMI to a audio/home theatre system. And using the other video outputs to give the video instead.

It shouldn't be a problem with the cable, since it is digital, if it were not to work - nothing would, or the audio would atleast be coming out weird (it it wasn't working).

Caps can fail with no outward signs. It takes a special meter to test them. Your set may have a back light inverter that powers the back lights. When it fails, the picture cant be seen, but you have sound, to check this look for a picture on the screen using a flashlight
